[Sorc] AoE Spec Question

At what lvl can a sorc effectively perform as an ApE dps for a WB? What are the core skills you need to do it? Are people running full wounds to survive being in the front line like that?

Any and all input greatly appreciated!

It's when you have Ice Spikes, Surgin Pain and Infernal Wave, you get the on the move rotation. Can't remember when you get it all. But you wanna open with Ice Spikes, then IW and then rotate between IS and SP until IW is up again. You can use Gloomburst as a way to build Dark Magic if you run low. When you get the tactic for IW you get much better Dark Magic management for this rotation and it changes slightly. When you get Disastrous Cascade it get's completed. For burst you want to open with IS then Shattered Shadows followed by IW. If you have Focused Mind then it's IS followed by SS spam.

Yep as much wounds as you can get, you wanna survive that bw m2. For good shattered shadows spam you need close quarters tactic, don't remember when you get it. For some reason career builder is not working for me so I can't post a spec, but pretty much what robin said.

The absolute minimum to perform proper rotations and fulfill your role as aoe sorc is rank 27
otherwise you run out of things to cast too much.
With full Dark magic Surging Pain>Disastrous Cascade>Surging Pain>Infernal wave>Surging Pain is gonna be your melt combo (holds true until endcontent but there's other spells you can weave in later on).

Wounds is equally important as Intelligence and magic crit since all of them somehow have to do with your classmechanic.
Wounds migitates impact of backlash
Basically you wanna look at your wounds and think with how much you are comfortable adn then add 700hp
