Im not expert,but on live BG used to be the "toughness" tank? And in RoR we have another toughnesscap and this is the main reason BGs feels weaker?

BG also was a gimp on live servers. Here you don’t need any big numbers of toughness in RvR because it won’t help you to survive moral bombing. Armor and wounds + avoidance stats are the main tools of tanks.

S+b Bg is alredy viable for sc guard change impacted the wb viability because 2h for bg was wb spec unlike other tansk which go s+b.

-ST crit debuff (also debuff enemy heal crit and can be keep up on 2 enemy)
-2x ap drain
-super punt
-super KD
-aoe block/parry debuff
-abosrb bubble (DP aswell)
-auto 4x parry/disrupt + ap regen (DP aswell)
-crit tactic
-offensive channeling
-almost infinite ap
-almost no rage consume
-aoe snate

There is enough room.to spec it like you want. Shield bg is good kit to counter small burst.if you want but you need to tab alot around and play with dark protector a lot (mean really a lot).

Again just wb spec got kill.

Completely unrelated to guard change the SnB BG is as wanted the same as a an SnB IB in a premade warband. Which is pretty much zero.
You have a lot of super cool single Target stuff and some AoE effects. And if you are super fast you can switch Dark Protector/Oath Friend and give the same buff to another ally as isn't bound to the GCD.
BO and Chosen can also Taunt, Guard and HTL, but have on top some other AoE buffs/debuffs which are not bound to a career ressource. I'm not 100% firm on BG but I see a lot of similarities to the IB which it mirror it is.

Small scale and 6vs6 BG and IBs are king. But if it goes 24vs24 and up buffing one (1) ally is not getting the WB forward. If you don't believe the Roleplay Dwarf look at TUPs latest Videos. You will see always 4 Chosen and 4 BOs, or better said 3 Chosen and 3 BOs as they run with 18 destros.

To make SnB BG/SnB IB warband usefull they need something flashy that the other tanks don't have and that doesn't get lost as is doesnt stack with any other buff that comes from potions or Kotbs/Chosen Auras.

SnB BG doesn't necessarily have to be great for smallscale: I am of the opinion that it sorta has a role as is (you can be annoying with the best KD ingame, stuff Tesq mentioned, outgoing HD if you want, etc), and that we should instead devote efforts to making the SnB BG/IB more attractive for largescale.

2h BG being more appealing for smallscale is honestly not an issue when SnB - even in current state - is still the go-to for largescale. Give the SnB trees for IB and BG something sexy to offer for their group/realm.

No on live the meta became chosen + BG because of rr100 sets the game favored a defensive+procs meta where BO and SM's damage wasnt as valued

this is why when RoR started up and Az was running devlopment/balance every one was talking about how SM and BO will need buffs cause they all remembered them being so weak on live

So if Bg is so awsome why we dont see them so much ?
1. Chosen can have 3 auras about +180 stats x6 ppl >profit
2. BO steal 3x random stats about +180 stats x6 ppl>profit
How many talis u profit ?
All work in wb and have bigger impact in small scale. Bg single target stats tani
My sugestion give wouds debbuf too tank tree

They got em in fact

First thing first the lol aoe punt which did allow you to cast mid air...etc

But the process is halted right now .....i cannot think of any class exept mara that have all mastery viable usualy all class have that 1 useless mastery or borderline useless or most borderline useless exept some key elements...
