Did FriendsofWar die?

When I try to go to their site, I get a nasty little F* You graphic. What happened??

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

I think we're all jaded about the lay-offs. Ofc not as directly as the actual guys, but we felt the ramifications :( I still think WAR would be big and alive and well today if they had kept on developing. Some truly unique work that was done. Thanks, Kirk. Yeah, the WH property is a really phenomen...

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

Hey Matt, glad to see you there Please, can you explain: was it intended that (most of) Order classes are much more stronger than their Destro mirrors if we are talking about "1vs1" duels? Of course not. Like any other 2-sided (good guys vs. bad guys) MMO, the idea is to make things equal...

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

Concerning player-catapults... like someone said already, there was one of those in the early Greenskin content I think.

Concerning Mark Jacob's server of choice or Curt Schilling's servers? I don't know/recall. Heh, I don't even remember the name of the server I played on! lol

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

Hey! I'm a former developer for WAR... Hello! And welcome! :) Can you enlighten me, please, considering Game Industry's policy on product being developed - all the work is done strictly in an office or it's possible to grab some stuff to work remotely, if you're not an outsourcer? Typically, game d...

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

Real question..... What were some of your favorite easter eggs. Were there any players did not find? Like the Portal in Inevitable that transported you to Cotswald (Dark Age of Camelot) or the Aristocrats joke punchline in the altdorf dogs end tavern. (If you stand in the tavern and listen to backr...

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

Heya. I want to ask you about the Frostshard Prison in Praag. Was it something more than just a cave with randomly spawning bosses? Was it possible to make the big frozen demon in the center to spawn? And what it was supposed to be if it was halfdone on live? I don't recall, unfortunately. I got a ...

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

Hello and welcome! Thanks for the work you did on Live for this game, it's still my all time favorite. Glad you get to see your work alive again, that's got to feel good. Chaos zones awesome! I have 2 big questions: 1. This projects biggest problem the LOSH, have any idea how can working and can he...

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

My first session was actually the gobbo placeholder stuff. I had been working at Mythic for a couple of weeks, passed Paul Barnett in the hallway (I knew who he was but he didn't know me) and he says "Wait... can you do a voice for me? I'm looking for a goblin voice. He's, like, scared of his m...

Re: Former dev, happy for the Waaagh!

Oh eternal mystery for me: What was the plan for the Kraken Sea zone that was west of Praag? :) THE KRAKEN! Oh man, we lol'd so much at Greg Wickham's best pirate voice saying "NO ONE WILL SURVIVE THE KRAKEN! MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!" ...yeah, we never quite got that past paper and into production...
