You should never “switch to shield DoK”. You definitely need a chalice set up and a shield set up and only use shield when it makes sense.

Or just find a buddy and duo queue discordants.. Tank and Heals(shield dok/wp) or DPS or heals and DPS basically just make sure you bring some utility to the table and dont just duo 2 dps.
