I'll bite, what's the ordinary player? One that wants the devs to remove core mechanics from the game to cater to them?
Is the "ordinary" player incapable of joining a group or playing a certain class to fill the party, what is this "ordinary" player creature you speak about?

in no game does taunt have any effect on players, but here you can stop abilities with it??? Tanks are by far the most powerful!

Tank itemization royally scrwed over the balance in this regard due to funky parry values and other issues, but BO/SM worked by providing higher pressure instead of a punt. It's a sideways leap in group playstyle capitalizing more on constant higher pressure to bruteforce kills through slight enemy...

You won't get much if your side is zerging and that's a good thing. A week or so ago we got about 300k renown from roaming for a couple of hours but we were heavily outnumbered and spent most of our time kiting warbands to rivers and picking of their "melee" healers.
