Renown isn't as important as it used to be considering rr80 is kinda easy to get, and rr70 is very easy to get. It's mostly a gear game imo, which makes the game easier to balance.

There is already a huge renown bonus on ranked sc. Play archetype underrepresented in queue to get faster pops. Obviously your enemy as to queue as well. Higher renown wouldn't change much, you often get like 18k for a win without any additional bonus. Renown rank is mostly meaningless in this game...
