New campaign was an interesting experiment, but did not succeed in improving the game. The past iteration was better.

If you want to reduce zerging, give players actual tools to counter zerging. Diminishing rations is just a crutch to compensate for bad design. Thing is, the devs probably don't see zerging as an issue. That's something I disagree with, but it's hard to fault them for not finding solutions for thing...

It meant one had to work to get that stealth opening, and also that there was a clear counterplay.

This is all a really elaborate way of avoiding the obvious; The fact that farming pugs yields more rewards than close fights between strong teams is clearly providing the wrong incentives to players. Compared to normal sc the ranked scs had already huge rewards, even on a loss. I doubt people will be drawn in with better rewards. When you now make a 6man and have only pugs in enemy team, imagine you make a 12man, it would be even less likely to be matched with another 12man. Don't you see this?...
