VESPERO’S VENDETTA
In various forms of fiction, it is terribly common to have various organizations floating around with a single purpose in life: causing death to others. It is often called ‘The Assassin's Guild, but it could appear under any number of other names or in any number of settings. Their goals for this vary. It's often simply for gold, but it could just be a group that enjoys playing politics. In that case, there's some overlap with the Ancient Conspiracy, except they're not that old ... and not that big. To stop us indulging in other, darker (and probably less profitable) hobbies, such as the killing of puppies we, Vespero’s Vendetta are up for hire. Pay for six hits, and the seventh is free!
GUILD BACKGROUND
Vespero's Vendetta is a band of mercenaries based upon the Dogs of War regiment of the same name. The guild aims on building towards a notorious reputation as deadly assassins. The roleplay background consists of a mercenary band moving out of Tilea where the rivalry between the Merchant princes becomes so violent that everyone of a right mind would hire bodyguards. These guards would protect their master from plotters, assassins, and rebels alike. Inevitably however, bodyguards of rival families would often clash with other families and small street duels are an often common place in the Tilean cities.
Pietro Vespero, a young and reckless noblemen, much given to self-indulgence and dubious escapades than anything else, leads the regiment. Unfortunately for the Free Company, his romantic adventures got him into trouble here as well and his expert skill resulted in the untimely end of so many noble youths in the city that their families all swore vendetta's against him and put a bounty of one million gold ducats on his head! Hunted through the streets by rival duelists, he barely escaped from the city with his life. From that moment on, Pietro Vespero, together with his band of reckless young duelist, left for the Empire and are up for hire to the highest bidder
BOUNTYHUNTING
For those who know how to seize an opportunity, even these troubled times are full of promise. Some who become heroes work not for glory, or wisdom, or to exalt the name of a God or saint. Vespero’s Vendetta strives for personal gain, looking only for material profit and the easiest means to gain it. With nobody to trust or depend upon, members quickly learn to live by their wits, counting on a quick hand and finely honed set of skills to carry them through any hardship. Not content with stealing gold or plunder, Vespero’s Vendetta steals lives instead, killing for their wages, trading blood for gold. Some are ruthless predators who've developed a taste for blood and thrill at the act of killing, while others are grim professionals, bringing a kind of honor even to the direst of professions - they take contracts from wealthy patrons to steal, and are paid handsomely for their services. However they approach their profession, our assassins must be able to do three things: get close to their targets, kill them quickly, and (hopefully) escape uncaught.
OPENING A CONTRACT
When opening a contract with Vespero’s Vendetta, you have become a confidential patron, unless otherwise specified. As proper assassins we take this business seriously and NEVER share information our patron has not requested to be shared, including to our own hunters. That's right. The person you thought to be a good e-friend or honorable enemy might in fact want you dead.
To place a contract with Vespero’s Vendetta for a hit on another player or even an entire guild, simply post in this topic or send a private message to Kragg on the forums. You may also contact Pietro or Baudrain directly ingame and the process can be initiated from there. For the roleplayers among us we also provide an In Character session in Altdorf in which we will discuss the contract.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1) You will be asked to provide information in regard on the mark (name, guild, class, etc). I will also ask if there is a "death message" you would like us to deliver for your own "personalized touch" upon completing the kill. This will be send from a Destruction character to the target in question.
2) Over the coming days, after deciding on the fee being paid in advance or afterwards, we will attempt to seek out your mark via in the RvR lake or elsewhere in the world and accomplish what you have ordered us to do...end the scum's life. As some of our targets are notable famous characters of renown this could take a while. However, rest assured. We will hunt him or her down. Hiding in a warband, 6-man or just solo? We will get to you, eventually.
3) Once we have accomplished the hit, we will notify you of our success and mail the mark your particular death message requested by in game mail and add his poster with a ‘killed’ mark on the forums. The contract will then be officially closed. All current and previous contracts are kept in record and up-to-date in this topic. Our contract kills are verified by screenshot. Any member of Vespero’s Vendetta falsely claiming credit for a kill will be cast out of the guild immediately.
4) You can also file an entire guild hit with Vespero’s Vendetta. Each successful kill is 5 gold for our hunters; therefore depending upon the price you will pay will dictate the length of the contract. For example, if you pay 50 gold, this will allot you 10 kills of this guild with our bountyhunters before the contract goes inactive. Screenshots of the kills will be made and posted on the bountyboard to further drive your point home. Price is negotiable.
5) You can cancel a hit at any time and receive a full refund. Simply contact Pietro ingame or Kragg on the forums and we will return your funds ASAP, without question.
