Magus - the most unwanted class?

So I got back into the game some weeks back after a break, my main class is the Magus.

Even before it felt like noone wanted them around, now returning after a few years it seems that it is more visible to me. Any city siege group i try to join im just ignored, even when "organized warbands" are advertised on rvr chat PMing the person who is advertising the group and telling them im a Magus just leads to not even being dignified as a response?

So is this class literally the leper noone wants to touch/have around or what? Noone makes negative mentions of the class being bad in pub warbands I join, nor scenarios. I can also see other Maguses running around in RvR.

So what am I doing wrong? For reference it wouldn't be my reputation or something since i barely interact with anyone through chat, mostly just join warbands and follow quietly.

Seems I might have placed this topic in the wrong subforum... if any moderator could move it to magus subforum that would be swell.

Thank you.

Usual composition for city is bunch of melles and 1 rdps for champ spot. So maguses, wh, we, sw, engies, bw, sork is second priority especially when they undergeared coz to keep them alive is big pain for tanks and heals. Thats why this classes usually end in soloque losers que in city with no heals and tanks. Still maguses and engies can create a ton of aoe pressure in city in good hands.
Noximilien - AM, Severi - SM, Ravandin - SW, Celebor - WL, Ernwald - WH, Demandred - BG.

I always thought a nice qol change that would separate them from engineers would be to have their demons follow them around like real pets. It wouldn't revolutionize the class or anything but I would certainly appreciate it if nothing else.

Would be nice if follow and engis just take off the bottom legs part and some steam animation to have seems like floating and follow.

What is currently needed for a dps spot in wb is a hard aoe burst. Magus doesn't provides that, compared to melee classes with 30 ft aoe, or to sorc. Magus also isn't greatest for a single target burst, so can't take a spot in a single target group.

In general, magus also needs pet for 20% dmg buff, and for ele debuff speaking single target build- compared to sorc with mobile mechanic.

Currently procs are also popular- magus also doesn't provides that, unlike sorc.

Magus is good for solo roaming if you know what you are doing, but that isn't what you are looking for per OP. I guess your best option is speccing mid tree and surfing the zerg- in one of the patches most of mid + right tree magus abilities were changed to be castable on the move, so helps there.

: D if you are srs though then the better one of the "mirrors" would have their mechanic following them and the another one wouldnt : D Magus under good tank and heals with this spec will do insane dmg RoR.builders - Magus Pink horror's 378 elemental debuff and every dot and direct dmg of magus is Elemental, even aegis of orange fire. Quickening Proc with CQ makes BoC 1s cast and 05s Mutating blue fire which has elemental direct dmg + third elemental dmg dot.

Also if pet followed magus, it would be permanent 20% dmg + permanent ap for everyone near the daemon with Lasting Chaos <3 Sounds too powerful to me. People who think Magus is bad doesnt know how to play one properly. They are fit for every playstyle of PvP RoR has to offer and PvE as well, Build right has 90% of sorc dmg but not close as squishy and you dont necessary see the dmg coming as easily like with bw/sorc.

1. Its a single target build- not something which you want for a wb.
2. Gcd is 1.5 sec, so reducing the cast time under doesn't really provides much of a benefit. Also, magus doesn't has anything really hard hitting and spammable which can take advantage of CQ- unlike sorc with Shattered Shadows/ Doombolt.
3. On the side note, for a single target burst on magus you likely want Daemonic Withering.

Again you are speaking about single target- wbs need aoe. Even speaking single target- magus needs to have the pet ele debuff on target + dots, that's already warning enough.

Single target dmg is huge and we should reduce the cap to 9 so actual skills will matter in PvP alot more. Morale bombing and aoe 50% HD's as well. Having 05s-1s cast times on 2-3s skills and CQ means you actually can keep casting and moving and pet has 50ft range before you start to lose 20% dmg, and is almost instant with Cq+quickening procs and the infinite AP for everyone is very very nice and thing.

I also would love the old engi/magus pull meaning 75ft upwards pulling from keep/fort walls, no safe spaces in RvR or even Wb if you afk too close. Both sides would have it and i dont remember anyone ever complaining about choppa pull on live war btw. First rr100 Slayer was a genious that used 15s last stand to kill all afking players waiting Renown tick from capturing zone, so he had 400% aoe and couldnt die in 15s and was a slayer, so he killed alot : D

they got destroyed with the changes to stacks as now you don't even have long range pull, wait for rebalance
