the thing is: With no looking forward to a reward even when losing, people will just leave the sc entirely.

its a difficult dilemma i admit though.

Noobs are getting more than enough RP when sharing kills. When devs will fix Scenario groups and their ui all will be fine.
Leecher get almost nothing, when they are not in your sc group. Have a full group (premade) and they can't even join to leech. Being AFK brings nothing in SC.
There is nothing worse than working your ass off for the victory, while some of your team are slacking. Having the option to switch SC groups to leave those leechers feels right. Same reward for everyone makes personal effort pointless and encourages leeching.

Healers out of group are a different case.
But get serious, healers don't compete with you, they are in your own faction.
Playing a healer WELL is already a challenging task, everyone depends on them, while they have to do more things simultaneous than any other career, followed by tanks and then comes a huge gap.
It should be in your interest to get strong healers for your faction.
All you should care for are healers, who do their job properly by healing you when needed.
Good healers know their limits, they will join a group, when there is no other option to win. Well, sometimes the team is too bad in general to win.
Dying is no option.

Dealing with spawn camp or afkers is best done by making fun/even teams. WAR (and currently RoR) used a FIFO queue with random team set up. This often pops boring SCs with random and uneven teams and the most obvious flaw is that could end up with no heals or crazy much heals.

Better SCs
1. Queue DPS, TANK, HEAL archetypes seperately (DPS AM == DPS, DPS TANK = DPS and so on, not hard at all)
2. Instead of FIFO start SCs with all currently queued players viable. Start by picking lets say 30% that has longest queue time
3. Try enforce same mix (DPS, TANK, HEAL) on both teams (if possible)
3. Try field lowbies vs lowbies (if first 30% was lowbies field lowbies against them)
4. Try pop SCs where premades go up vs other premades or toughest possible opposition
(When 1-4 don't work use FIFO SC)

So if you are unlucky you may queue a bit longer but the overall fun will improve. When its fun you don't afk

Also I'm no enemy of adding more players to the weaker side. When it starts but also as reinforcements when one side controls 3 flags or has twice as much points

the easiest way to balance population:

sc doesnt start untill numbers are even. after starting the sc is locked, no more matching in. only if someone leaves new player join to even it out for that person.
