constant lose for end gear, wtf is that?
but I don't have any solution neither.

every battle have winner and looser.
suck it up and don't mind to be losing side. ignore throwers, they're nothing but annoying npc.

if you could manage divide and conquer with aao, rp gain is far better than zerg.

in best scenario, underdog have same pace in gearing up like zerg winner.
even better with aao.

only requirement is teamwork and not afraiding death.

so I think it's player issue.
maybe, asking courage despite of constant defeat is hard one.
that's psychological level of war, where leadership is factor. also player skill.

You don't have to force split them, give them more renown and extra bag rolls for contribution in "underpopulated" zones. People will gladly split.
There is already such buff. They don't split. They need guaranteed rewards from zone lock. Don't be naive. You know too how it actually works.
This blob situation looks like a lot like Train on railway.
How do you stop split locomotive moving full speed on railway ? With buffs ? It's not working. I think about simple and actually working solutions. Not some "maybe it will work" teorycrafting stuff.

Give players above rr60 (with vanq unlock) guaranted invader for locking zone, and guaranted royal for rr70+ (with invader unlock) and they will rather go take empty keeps than blob fight for sake of blobing.

I feel that after resurrection stop patch things are better. Before u got only 3/2 huge funnels (main door and postern/s) now u got fight around the keep, all the way to the keep, even at pve routs toward the keep.
Now just BO importants need to be raised and ppl will spread out more evenly at one zone

Maybe people enjoy playing mass RvR zerg battles because there's no other game out there that does it as well as WAR.

Maybe it could be anything else except huge zerg-blob facerolling other players whole prime time. WHO is unique game after all, and there is too many details to counter all in 1 post. Fact is 2warbands vs 2warbands is completely different RVR experience with enabled skill and tactics. While blobbing-zerging is plain dumb and boring after some time.

It's direct contradiction to "no leeching" logic. When you get nothing for taking empty keeps.
You see it's only works fine in theory. 240 players or 10wb can easiliy counter any sneaky sieges with few warbands.

The current "all blob front of keep" is boring in the current state :
- tanks have basically not much use saving the 4 using the ram,
- melees cannot infiltrate with great efficiency, even with stealth abilities (oil room/postern defended)
- Healers dont have much to do before funnel happens
- Objectives are useless during the whole siege (bonuses to doors and lord are totally meaningless)
- Being ganked/blockaded is not fun at all, even for the attackers (waiting cows for the butchering... great gameplay).

My suggestion :
Make Battlefield Objectives needed the whole time of a keep siege, like :

- Having to constantly hold X number of BOs during an attack to make the ram/cannons effective against door and oil.
If this requirement is not met, damage from ram is significantly reduced.

- Holding BOs for defenders may grant bonuses for those inside keep zone, like increased players HP or resistances, or even damage from oil and static weaponry (the latter being currently useless vs spawned versions).

This way you encourage attackers to split to hold BOs while attacking the keep, instead of being useless and allowing the whole 400+ players blob doing nothing before the door fall...

Of course to get those bonuses from held BOs, it may require X amount of players (like 6 ?) minimum to avoid being too easy to control.

In any case, this should incentivize solo/roam/6man play during a siege, granting melee something to do in the meanwhile, bringing more options to spread zergs (attackers may want to strongly secure objectives with more than a few men, defenders could do something even with postern blockade, etc.), and generally allowing more tactical moves from both sides.

Yes, they can counter sneaky sieges, but to do that, they have to split. If you siege 3 zones at same time, zerg has to split between them constantly and blobing gets reduced. Exacly my point. And since "locking" zone yourself would be requirement for crest, they will want to lock [read: win] as many zones themselves rather than just blob somewhere.

What if AAO buffed characters and not just renown and xp?
