Engi could use some more tools.

Since the changes to Squig Herder and all the utility and now damage they have at range or melee I figured it couldn't hurt to ask for more usefulness on other classes. If they can have it all then why not another class as well.

Engie could use some more tools so here we go. :lol:

First change would be a new skill called Rocket boots. It would go where Bugmans best is in the tinker tree Bugmans best would be moved to Core in tinker tree at level 25. Rocket boots upon activation Knocks back anyone behind you a medium distance and would be a channel for 10 seconds 50% movement speed increase plowing through enemies anyone you plow into also gets hit with friction burn.

Second Change would be a quality of life change and just eliminate Well Oiled Machine tactic and just make Turrets insta summon. Trying to run without this tactic in places like city or fort where aoe is high is just a waste of time. Even with the changes to survival for the turrets they still die very quickly. Well Oiled Machine would become a new tactic that reduces the cool down times of skills for your turret by 50% and it auto attacks 50% faster. This would also work on the next change as well.

Third Change M1 Autoloader eliminated and a New M1 called BFG goes in its place. BFG summons all 3 turrets at once for 30 seconds the wounds of the turrets are doubled and they can use all Core skills you have access to. Gun turret would use all Rifleman core skills, Bombardment Turret would use all Grenadier core skills, Flame turret would use all Tinkerer core skills. If they get killed before the 30 seconds is up they self-destruct doing aoe damage and knocking down anyone within 30 feet.

Fourth Change Make Flak Jacket the self armor buff a non enchantment buff so it can't be shattered off. On live it had a 20 stack buff that would lose stacks as you got hit. Now any monkey with nerfed buttons and shatter enchantment can remove it without thinking about it.

Fifth and Final change Change Extra Powder tactic 3 point tactic in the Grenadier tree to make Firebomb and Sticky Bomb hit all targets in 20 feet of the target. Rename the tactic Extra Boom BOOM!

I think the RUN AWAY! (30% speed boost for 10s, 60s cooldown, SHs have that) would fit very well for the engineer because engis have a hard time catching enemies due to their lacking CC.

It would also increase their chance to survive in 1:1 slightly - where they also have troubles.

I also thought about something similar to this at some point for Magus & Engi. The idea is that their pets are not pets but turrets, and as such it doesn't make sense to have them under the same game rules as SH/WL pets in a game where fast movement and positioning is so important.

Whoa there, slow down buckaroo! That's a pretty massive increase in DPS we're talking about. Not sure I understand exactly where it's coming from, since Engi/Magus don't seem to suffer that much on ST dps.

Honestly, do you really want to give any sort of buff or positive change to a class which is behind most of the problems of a faction?

We really don't need more engineers playing, full stop. Order desperately needs more healers and tanks, not more people rerolling or rolling an already oversaturated class which will only contribute positively in one aspect of the game and also take a possible spot where another class like White Lion or Witch Hunter can use in terms of buffing their group synergy.

E ist very powerfull atm and you want buff it?

Problems with SH? Fight on 100y Range stationary vs the squig = Autowin...
SH ist very weak on 100y. Your turrents are stronger and you got a bigger range. USE your strength!

Would be fun if the tinker tree were remade into a melee tree. Could give engi's access to a some of the SH melee abilities and perhaps a CD decreaser.

SW (and a little bit WL) ist the counterpart of SH and not E.
You have to compare with magus.

This pretty much summs it up. Engineer is probably the most overloaded class on Order in terms of CC and control, yet 1/2000 enigneers understand how to use their cc and play as a control-mage. Either they have NB and break their CC with multidotting, or they live up on a keepwall and think because they have one ability called "snipe" that the class is only a sniper.
Hint hint you are also a "landminer" in that case. :roll:

Generally speaking Enigneer have acces to shorter cooldowns between their knockbacks than any tank, they have longer ranged than any other rdps, while getting acces to knockdowns for selfpeel, aoe punts baseline and can debuff their own damage type for both magical and psyical damage output, while being able to CC both a largescale frontline PLUS backline at the same time.

Yes they are immobile and the turret-hugging kinda limmits the class, a few extraordinaire players have mastered all the tools this class has to the point of it seeming overloaded/powered.
while the rest only touch a tenth of the abilities and dont really play the class to the fullest.

For a comparison, a BW has to spec for a knockdown or knockback to peel for itself and that is not even comparing it to a sorc and the lack of selfpeel. Engineers are not the first on the list to getting any "more tools" as they already have more than the playerbase can handle :D
