[Sorc/BW] Sorc single target >> BW single target

This is what sorcs are currently using for single target dps:

- Chillwind ability: dot over 9s SPIRIT damage
- Shadow of Disaster tactic: reduces cost of chillwind and "reduces SPIRIT resistences by xxx"
- Word of Pain: reduces willpower and SPIRIT damage after 10s
- Vision of Domination tactic: increases willpower debuff and word of pain
- Vision of Torment: target loses AP and SPIRIT damage after 5s
- Hand of Ruin: channeled SPIRIT damage
- Gloombust: 1s cast SPIRIT damage
- Swell of Gloom tactic: to increase Gloombust SPIRIT damage.

So they start off the rotation with Chillwind to apply dot and to debuff SPIRIT resistences. Then they apply Word of Pain and Vision of Torment (both SPIRIT damage). Then they cast Hand of Ruin and Gloombust (both SPIRIT damage) to finish the target off.
You can add other stuff to the rotation, like Obessive Focus for 10% more damage on the target or e.g. Impending Doom for another instant SPIRIT damage. Arctic Blast is also SPIRIT damage but 2s cast.

Now when you compare the BW with that:

- Ignite ability: dot over 9s CORPOREAL damage (Chillwind mirror)
- Ignition tactic: reduces cost of ignite and "reduces CORPOREAL resistences by xxx" (Shadow of Disaster mirror)
- Boiling Blood: reduces willpower and CORPOREAL damage after 10s (Word of Pain mirror)
- Slow Boil: target loses AP and CORPOREAL damage after 5s (Vision of Torment mirror)
- EDIT: Withering Heat: Hand of Ruin mirror
- Sear: 1s cast ELEMENTAL damage (Gloombust mirror but does not do debuffed CORPOREAL damage)
- NO Swell of Gloom tactic mirror

- Stop, drop, roll: instant ELEMENTAL damage with 3s knock down, 20s cooldown (NO sorc mirror)
- Detonate: low instant aoe ELEMENTAL damage with ELEMENTAL dot component (NO sorc mirror)

So they start like the sorc with Ignite to apply dot and to debuff CORPOREAL resistences. Then they apply Boiling Blood and Slow Boil (both CORPOREAL damage) like the sorc. And now they are starting to fall behind in comparisson to the sorcs. They have no powerful Hand of Ruin channel and Sear is not the debuffed CORPOREAL damage. They are also missing the Swell of Gloom tactic. What they can use is Stop, drop, roll but it is ELEMENTAL and on a 20s cooldown and they have to go deep in the tree and Detonate which is aoe and rather weak. The other options are deep in the Incineration tree and also ELEMENTAL, not CORPOREAL which they can debuff.


From my point of view the sorc is overperforming in the single target department due to the fact that she can debuff almost all of her damage and she has the better single target abilities on top of that.

The BW is missing Hand of Ruin, Swell of Gloom and CORPOREAL damage on the Sear ability. They lack in comparisson to the sorc.

My suggestion: Either change Sear from ELEMENTAL to CORPOREAL damage and reduce the cast time on Pyroclastic Surge by 1s OR change some of the Sorc damage types from SPIRIT to CORPOREAL (mainly the Path of Agony abilities) to bring them more in line with the BW.

And I was not complaining about bw being weak but BW lacking in single target damage when compared to the sorc.

also thank you for forgetting only Flashfire, Burn Through, self cleanse, self armor buff, speccable aoe KB, Burning Head, ranged healdebuff, access to woundsbuff, access to crit buffs and some other clearly useless stuff like Funnel Power procs.
