Broadhead Arrow Suggestion.

Currently as is in the state of the game Broadhead Arrow kind of teeters on the edge of being an AoE and a singletarget stackable dot due to the Tactic: Split Arrows. This grey area lets Broadhead Arrow simultaneous act as both at once which sort of breaks the already established server rules of AoE DoTs.

For example Acid Grenade, Phosphorus Shells, Dissolving Mist, can be applied infinitely to a target but only the 3 strongest applications will tick for damage for balancing sake. My suggestion to bring Broadhead Arrow in line with other AoE DoTs is as such.

Tactic : Split Arrows - Spiral-Fletched Arrow will now hit all enemies within 20 feet of your initial target, additionally your Broadhead Arrow is converted into a Broadhead Explosion with an area of effect of 20 feet of your initial target. Their range is reduced to 65 feet.

By changing the name/aoe DoT of Broadhead Arrow to Broadhead Explosion it would allow the devs to only allow Broadhead Explosion to follow the same AoE DoT rules as all the other AoE DoTs on the server. Additionally it would not hinder single target specced Shadow Warriors seeing as their Broadhead Arrow would still follow the same rules as other single target stackable DoTs and not cripple their dmg output.

Just food for thought, currently Broadhead Arrow seems to break all the rules of the server by being in a grey area of being both a single target stackable DoT, that stacks infinitely on a target. Also while having the convenience of an AoE DoT application.

Well, when you get to the point some people are calling "Fort defence coming up log your SW's." You slowly start to realise the class is a bit too good at doing what it's doing.

The "issue" i see with BHA and stacking several SWs applying it, is that the devs have kinda cornered themselves a little here with this ability. on its own is kinda fine. but when you start spam-stacking it with 4 or more SWs then the criticalmass becomes an issue.
If we compare the other ranged aoe constant presure abilities with 100% uptime from order we have,

Engineer napalm that doesnt stack with other engineers.
Brightwizard Rain of fire, which doesnt stack with other RoFs

The rest of the ranged abilities require cooldowns, or have resist debuff compenents so they scare worse than a pure DMG DoT.
So if BHA was given the same treatment as Napalm and RoF, it would break the spec of SW because if they are trying to apply this ability to a target, but the target is already affected by an other SW (or X ammount of BHAs) they wouldnt have enough filler tools in their arsenal to make the spec worthwhile, for what the spec is supposed to bring the career. An aoe spec.

So how else can the ability be kept in line, I personally think the issue comes from when SWs are able to jump and instantly apply the dot behind battlements in keepwalls.
If the ability was not castable while the SW was Airborn, maybe that would add some counterplay to the 4-8 jumping legolasses we have seen in order fortress defences for the last few months.

BHA being able to proc Piercedefence tactic also make it so the 3 stacks are pretty much garenteed to land eventually. A more "nerf direction" suggestion would be if each tick of BHA was running a defence-check and then allow Assault SW to be able to use the dot again maybe(?)

RvR and forts are pretty much the areas where overstacking stuff can break the game. BHA is one of these cases. And it is probably about time it is looked at based on how long Altdorf remains 5star for such long periodes of time.

Pandemonium/Frag Grenade/Gloom of Night etc all stack from multiple attackers just like BHA does.

BW used to have one too but Detonate was nerfed to **** early on live.

Pandemonium has only 1 stack and 5 sec cooldown tho. But whatever, we don't have to have a mirror everywhere. However, BHA should be definitely looked into if it has all three points 1)unlimited stacking from multiple sources 2) no defence checks after application 3) no cooldown.

Glean+Pande w/ Flamer (and Engi Equiv) does a bit more damage than BHA, and it leaves a tac slot free.

But yeah SW does bring up the sheer number of Order players with ranged AOE dot by a lot.

Having 4+ stacks of x3 BHA is fkn unreal broken and unbelievable it's been like this for a while.

How is broadhead stacking broken and melee aoe stacking or magus dot stacking is not?

You need to fire it three times to do some damage and it can be blocked, evaded... and it is affected by the targets armor ... and the 3x stacking can be cleasned with 1x cleanse ... and it has only a small radius ... and you have to get very close as squishy SW. Compared to the melee aoe stacking this is not overpowered at all and way harder to perform.

What is really broken in this game is the amount of times you are getting pulled by maras and choppas while order has not really working pull at all. Lots of free kills for destro. We can nerf broadhead when you nerf that pull crap too.
