Why the neglect for the main attraction of RoR?

Why have the devs been working on things such as ranked and making new cities for the past couple of years while pretty much neglecting the whole attraction and reason people play RoR? ORvR battles in the lakes with massive numbers.

Does anyone have any specific data? The population is dying super quick and is not looking good.

Wdym with neglected? The Lakes are fun and with 2 zones open the campaing moves fast. The Dev team is small and LotD dungeons are still in testing. First implement the missing content, then you can focus on the rest

The server dies so fast since at least half a decade, we must have a negative population number by now.
Dying is no option.

there will be players all the time as long as ror is up and free. dying part is content and the people who is creating content. note that we had 3k+ online during the peonwave and now its between 700-1000 which is not looking promising for the future. its almost impossible to see full guild warbands on rvr and city even its on prime time. personally the people i used to know become way more casual or quit already.

To be honest you're a bit too late with this, there have been solid pro-ORvR changes in last few months - City sieges are now scheduled to once every 3 days and no longer interrupt ORvR flow, all currencies have been changed to one "War Crests", so you no longer need to do scenarios/ranked/city sieges to get best gear, you can gear up entirely through ORvR

Problems that remain have more to do with RvR mechanics, and with lack of balance/meta changes to the game, we've been all doing the same thing for years and it just gets boring eventualy...
