Pets should stop attacking after detaunt

Why every class in the game is not allowed to attack, by any damaging ability, after detaunting target, but pets still can deal full damage, inflicting debuffs, without breaking detaunt ?

Squig Herder situation is even more favorable (and exploited), because they can just keep pet's attacking, kite, detaunt, and wait for M1 to boost their pet damage, effectively doing great amounts of damage while taking half damage, even being able to kill their opponent.

WL can do the same, although with far less efficiency (less kiting tools and no pet buffing Morale).

This is simply not fair, it's like having a free guard and a tank friend who can hit your target while you're basically unkillable. While playing solo.
I'm not even including regen monstrosities SHs that have shown recently, because it's even more gamebreaking...

That's why I kindly suggest :
- Pets should immediately stop attacks against detaunted targets, and commanding pet to forcibly attack detaunted target should instantly break the detaunt, like any other class in the game.
- All DoTs by pet running before detaunt should comply to global rule, inflicting half their damage until detaunt broke.

Well that is the benefit of having a pet class, Your pet is not You, so its up to the person being attacked by such class, if either it wonts to detaunt the pet or the player, or take AOE detaunt witch is available for some classes.

the only problem I have with it, is that some abilities like Leonine Frenzy or Drop That!!, are considered player damage rather than Pets so it removes detaunt.

what is the trade off, for that. Well pets are not beeing targeted by aoe heals for example.

I think those are some reasonable points, as are those about the core benefits of being a two-entity pet class. Mostly I care about how this will effect my white lion cub in outcomped scenarios where my teams has given up, yet I still get a thrill out of watching my kitty be a good boy and maul some rdps or healer while their melee just watch it happen.

best kind of kills. my dumb "just how much can i buff a horned squig" build has terrorized so many out of group SWs. full loudmouf BO used to be good at that too until they destroyed literally every single element that made that build even function

It‘s two different entities. Why should the pet stop attacking or deal half damage because the player detaunts you? You can just kill the pet and reduce these classes effectiveness by A LOT. And guess what? The pet can‘t be guarded nor detaunt a target by itself.
Honestly this sounds like a 1v1 issue. It’s a non factor in any kind of group constellation.

Sounds a lot like the typical „I couldn‘t kill something so I want it nerfed so I can kill it“

As a RSH, I am fine with this suggestion, as long as:

1. AM dots stop damaging me when they detaunt. Their current tactic is dot dot dot, detaunt and heal. Rinse, repeat.
Same suggestion for BWs and Engies.

2. All WH damage halts on a stealth or self-kb, and they get a long cd on stealth. Currently it is a joke.

3. SWs get an forced CD on their stance change speed buff.

4. Tanks lose the ability to move and use HTL.

None of these are likely to happen, an neither should the OP’s suggestion.
Seriously, SHs are far from OP, are you trying to make it so they die easily to every single order class?

I would agree with topic starter, pet should recieve detaunt aswell then stop attack, and break it after hostile comand for both. It literally look like smile to enemy and ask dont hit him, then scream to pet "kill that @#$%". If i remember corect squig pet can eat alive people after morale buff, add to this 2knockback, armorstance, speedbuff+speedtactic, this detaunt shenanigans can be pretty toxic. Hope devs will look closer to situation while preparing dps patch.

Literally this. The only comments in these threads are the typical order players wanting nerf after nerf after nerf for destro. It's like they literally only want pvdoor.

It is really amusing to see Destro jump on every single post and try to derail the discussion. Firebird takes the number one spot, by complaining about Archmage, Bright Wizards, Engineers, Witch Hunters, shadow warriors and every Order tank in one post without adressing anything the OP said.
