Maybe he didn't articulate his point well, but that doesn't make it any less valid. Using a melee channel while on ping is difficult to the point of making extremely ineffective.

I would not bother with omegus he just wanted to argue for the sake of arguing. I mean you can see when i zoom in after it cancel. The ping make a big differance. Only answer to do is to change to sigmar radiance or just give us an AOE channel infront of us like Bring it on (choopa). It would be an easy fix.

I have said many times I have no idea why that channel cancelled, and have also mentioned that it's hard to work out as you zoom in on the UI to remove all potential clues.

Tell me, is there a specific issue with the WP channel as per this thread - which works like all other regular melee channels - or is there an issue with all channels and high ping? If it's all channels, why advocate just for a change to the WP? Should all melee classes lose their single-target channel and get Bring It On instead? Do you know roughly want your ping is to the server and have you tried mitigating it? What impact does the ping of the other player have? Have you done any research onto whether melee channels on Mythic servers always broke if the opponent got behind you? Have you done any tests to see if it breaks if someone gets into your back arc between ticks (which would make it even more sensitive) or does it only do the cone of fire check once per tick? Your OP could've been full of good testing and useful feedback, instead we got overblown statements such as "it breaks from nothing" and a video showing you running out of resources... twice.

Here's some alternative ideas to giving the WP the Choppa's frontal AOE (lol):

1) During channels, if someone gets too far away the channel no longer breaks but instead the attacks auto-miss until you get the person back in range

2) During channels, if the enemy is in your back arc when you are channelling then the attack automatically misses but the channel continues so you still have a chance to hit them with the remaining hits if you turn/reposition in time.

3) Promote this bug ticket (don't look at the author as it might upset you) about missing notifications when someone goes out of range or out of cone of fire during a channel so players know why it broke: https://bugs.returnofreckoning.com/view.php?id=22170

4) Widen the cone of fire from 180 degrees to 240 degrees, meaning someone has to get in your back third (rather than your back half) to break it

5) Remove the cone of fire checks completely once the channel begins, using evidence from videos from the Mythic days where it shows melee channels continuing even when the opponent gets behind you. Evidence such as https://youtu.be/xsvxVw9W0xM?t=823 which I found in about 20 minutes. It's even a Warrior Priest using Divine Assault. Love you too <3

Omegus this is the same problem as well, Ether Dance interrupts from nothing exactly at 1 second so 2 sec left.

It's unreliable pretty much. I mean if they would do the #5 idea of Omegus would be the ideal solution.

Yep, and as you know if you are Dps Wp/Dok and Divine Assault/Rend Soul doesnt work properly, you are done. Guilty Soul Healing def target or you again would be very nice, and Sigmar's Shield should do same amount of dmg to target when you are healed by it and every dmg tick gives 5rf back. And Ap based grp melee heal that returns resoures sounds very good. Imo Grace of sigmar and dok equivalent shouldnt just make Divine Strike hit 2 additional enemy with 2h/dual wield.

I know shield wp/dok aint going anywhere but i skills like Sacrifice with dps spec and if you could still use it while moving would be very nice and the shield is not needed imo, and it gives block to someone that is not tank, also toughness gives Block so Toughness indirectly buffs Shield wp/dok

The Blackguard went out of range. You can see your 5ft melee abilities had red shortcut text (out of range) when it broke. It didn't break immediately as there is some leeway with the range after 5ft (not huge). The break distance seems to be around 10ft based on testing.

To comment on the bits of text on the Imgur link:
Target is out of range and Target is outside cone of fire are both on the screen when i use Ether dance and it breaks from nothing after 1 sec. You can switch targets while casting melee channels without it breaking it either, like you can switch target after casting Hor/Indigo Fire of change etc and it will keep damaging the original target
The default UI only displays a couple of lines of text in the middle of the screen and once and queues the rest so often what you are seeing when you use an ability is text relating to many seconds ago. It was a terrible UI decision to put feedback like that in the scrolling text. From what I can work out:

1) The cause of the first two "Target is out of range" messages at the start of the video cannot be determined as the button presses that triggered them were from before the video began
2) There were then a bunch of attempts of using Blurring Shock while out of range which caused the "Target is out of range" message to appear a few times. There is a limit to how many out of range and cone of fire messages can build up in the queue (tested and confirmed)
3) You then attempted to use Ether Dance just as the enemy moved into your back arc which triggered the cone of fire message
4) You then used Ether Dance successfully until it broke due to range issues (support my bug ticket to have the server sent range errors when the channel breaks early due to range).

Channels always continue on the original target even if you switch target. This is not new and not a bug. The same thing happens to casts: if you start casting an ability on someone and then change target, when the cast bar ends it then does the ability on the original target. Casts and channels are "sticky" and it's a really useful feature.

They fixed it. Dont know which dev/coder did it but thanks alot! I can enjoy the class now. It used to cancel randomnly now only cancel if your really out of range or on the sides. Soo we can close this topic

While it is better than before, it still has this random cancel in a form of your own character performs a jump even if you did not manually activate the jump. This has been observed on different classes channel skills, like Slayer's Rune of Absorption.
