I hope for better days

Hello everyone!

At the moment I am writing this post, less than 500 people are playing, and soon that number should increase slightly and then drop drastically. This is usually one of the best times, but the drastic drop in the server population worries me.

There was a discussion recently about how things would be with RoR, about decision-making. Soon we had a promise that active players with enough knowledge would be responsible for helping with the balance. Then we found out that some of them were banned from the staff (I don't have a source right now).

Anyway, it seems to me to be one of the worst, if not the worst moment for RoR, and we know very well the reasons; making decisions on their own, without consulting the players, buffs and nerfs without explanation, just applying them as if they were for their own benefit... The last one is certainly the decision of the WS modifier... Which probably the dev who decided on this change didn't have the time or the care to see that other classes were extremely harmed, those that for example use WS buff to increase parry and maintain balance in combat, like IB, whose buff should now increase initiative? lol. And SH, with the new nerf in the tree, made it unplayable as MSH again. While SW has become a cancer! Most of the choppas/slayers now look like potatoes. WL, WH, WE are extremely strong with the lack of parry of the other MDPS. The truth is that we had a huge post from players who play the game and disapproved of these changes and the devs ignore the community again.

It will never be a surprise that bad days like these with so much bad decision making.

I hope for better days.

The WS change took away an excessive amount of parry you shouldn't have gotten in the first place. Of all the things you can rightfully complain, this is none of it.

The parade was fine as it was, whether it was new or not. Besides, the problem remains unresolved because this decision is the worst possible one. The server's population is declining, players are complaining with good reason, and the developers are giving us new capes... makes sense.

I agree, as long as other balances over the years have never taken into account the high parry, well, today we have a problem to be solved. Over time, everything was developed taking into account attack and defense. Removing this parry % all at once creates a very big gap. It is necessary to review some concepts before changing attributes that are so fundamental today.

"Over the years" doesn't apply, this high amount of parry was introduced this January. 25th of Jan, 2024, was the exact day WS started giving real parry against anything but SnB tanks. Prior to this, it would give around 4-5% against DPS.

This was a complaint to lodge back then, to oppose the introduction of the stat changes that enabled this obscenely high free parry to begin with, the game was never designed for WS to give 25-30% parry to DPS classes. What we have now is a reversion to values that far closer align with those the game was deisgned around "over the years".

I will agree that the balance team needs to be larger and have a greater sum of experience. However, the amount of "woe is me' posts on the forums from a percentage of the player base are a problem themselves. It's just junk and adds nothing constructive. These kinds of tropes are usually the result of those with limited experience, but infinite displeasure. Trying to garner favor through emotional appeals is a drag on the community. Frankly, the game is better off if these types of people just leave (whoever they may be).
