I grew up on a lot of those classics, found them incredibly scary as a child, but can't help but laugh at them when I watch them now xD
I think the scariest movie I ever watched as a child (I'm talking nightmares for 5+ years) was Salem's Lot. Ughhh.

Not really a horror, but a great movie anyway. Refn (the guy that made Drive) is a genius, the whole movie has stunning cinematography, gorgeous color play and sick twist at the end. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!Specialpatrol wrote:- The Neon Demon (more moody and artsy - but with a bloody macabre finale)

Lmao return of the living dead was terrible! I just remember some nude scenes...
Ouija OoE had potential at the start, but nearer the end turned meh for me. Let me in was cool.

Train to Busan was phenomenal! My girlfriend teared up near the end (blaming it on her eye liner, ofc). Cheers for the recommendation, was pleasantly surprised. Any other similar Asian horror movies?

Not Asian, but still very good.
Resolution: man attempts to get his meth addict buddy to go to rehab by forcing him to go cold turkey at his squat in the desert. Hijinks ensue.
Banshee Chapter: Hunter S. Thompson meets HP Lovecraft, plus MKULTRA.
Stakeland: not mecessarily horror, but an excellent post-apocalypticvampire flick.
Byzantium: A bit artsy but another good vampire flick. Saorise Ronan is Irish, so support your countrymen!
Near Dark: watch it in honor of Bill Paxton. Also its like the more serious older brother of Lost Boys.
