"The kid had never left his farm and the limit of his world were fields around.
We were far from crashes of war and this place was still saved.
He was too young to hear all the horrors he would see too soon and i hadn't the heart to tell him about.
Near the fire place, i told him about the world and his beauties.
The kid was curious and surprised to learn that so many countries could exist.
Then, i took my sketchbook from my backpack and showed him..."

edit reason from 9th of Jan.: switched cause way cooler than original entry

A quick "how to" for people who also want to enter contest last minute (size is intended to not disturb the contest):

1. take a screen, nice angle, somewhat entertaining to watch - make it symmetrical, somehow interesting to look at, make sure you have enough space for a logo
2. get gimp 2, install it (I'm using 2.8)
3. open you pic in gimp
4. in the menu strip, there are two important points -> colours, filters
- in colours:
a) colour balance (1st point), you can change the whole look with shifting the switches from one colour range to the other, also this can be done for highlights (lighter areas), mids (medium coloured) and shadows (dark areas)
b) shade/saturation (2nd point) allows you to intesify/desaturate single colours or the pic as a whole - if you want that red to be shinier or whatever
c) coloring (3rd point) tints the whole pic
- in filters:
there are several options - just play with them. "artistic" got a lot to offer in its sub menu
5. add the logo by opening the file in gimp. a new window will open (you might not see it, but it's there). switch to the window, click into the pic (aka select the content), ctrl+c (or copy from right click), go back to your pic, press ctrl+v (or paste). The logo is now in your pic but you can't really work with it. Go to the layer manager (it's a separate small window,if you can't see it, open it by clicking window at main menu strip, choose dockable dialogues, choose layers). There's one layer with your picture and one layer above it saying something like hovering layer - left click then right click this and chose "to new layer". The logo can now be changed in size, location etc and even colour as described before.
6. add text by using the text tool - make sure to have chosen the lower layer (not the logo layer) to put text in. Text tool can be found in the toolbox dialogue. It's a huuuge A. Chose that, click somewhere and set the size, type colour to whatever you like.
7. save your file as xcf (for further processing) and export as png.
