You'll obviously see the same comps ran by the same people - why would they reroll other classes and abandon their mains just to entertain you.
Boom! And therein lies the problem, of course they wouldn't want to reroll which is why youll see those "top 10" players who you so desperately want to be driving balancing decisions, doing everything they can to maintain the status quo.

Balance decisions must involve the wider audience who are not so invested in a specific class or 6v6 comp continuing to be top patch-on-patch. It's hurting the community in terms of trust in the dev team and just wanting to log on imo.
The top players are going to stand out on any class they play. They put forth the time and effort to learn the classes on both sides. They should be at the forefront of any balance discussion. The guy who rolls in a WBs 24/7 and spams rain of fire or blunderbuss, while not having pots or talis equipped, should never be brought on board to discuss balance.

Yes, please, go on, completly disregard these players as individuals who, too, want to enjoy the game. Naturally they cling to their mains, not because they've sunk hundreds if not thousands of hours into their toons - not because they enjoy playing these classes -, but because they can only succeed with these classes.
Don't mind players like Csi or groups like LoB completly annihilating their opposition regardless of what classes, gear and specs they run.

Edit:
Be happy the 6v6 community are such evil elitist cunts that do not take joy participating in large scale, else you'd face a Phalanx-esque, organised warband on the regular.
The only thing saving you from hitting release 24/7 in your comfort zones of the blobtastic paradise that is RvR, is them not leaving their comfort zones of relentless small scale circlejerk and banter-fueled feuds.
Most of the balance arguments made on the basis of scale are beyond shallow, I don't know why our lords and saviors don't just make their case by creating a spiritual successor to Phalanx - a magnificient grand alliance of derps who would otherwise be dying of old age and boredom waiting for that juicy crash-riddled 6v6 SC pop.

Edit: In short: Stop demanding people to handicap themselves just because you refuse to step up your game, or come to terms with your limitations.

Wtf, having actually organised wb's on both sides in orvr would be totally sweet though.

Thats kinda bad, when developers team dont have exact vision of their "end goal of balance " or whatever. Balancing would be tough, because different groups of people probably wants something really different from their game experience. Some want to play smallscale or solo, another want their 40-60-100 men zergblob experience. And what going to work for one group, not going to work for another.

As a formor ror team members has posted in the subreddit:
"The entire purpose of the community balance subforum is to be able to tell people to post proposals there so they can leave them to rot. That's literally why it was created."

So yeah, I seriously doubt that anything changes with the balance forum. Like really I wanted to like this "balance discussion forum" but it's just a way from the devs to shut down discussions about balance that were previously strongly discussed in the suggestions section. All you get now is no way to actually discuss things as it is shut down with "Is this the balance forum? /closed." But hey maybe it's now different....
Spoiler:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and getting the same result, but expecting a different one.

idk why people seem polls dont give credible information. its still information based on feeling of a change such as the example with the guard change. its just part of the information to use when making a discussion, of course its good to also get feedback and other parts of information to help make a better decision.

i'm glad there are changes coming to balancing the game out, im actually stoked because there are some things in the game that are quite over performing but this isnt the place to talk about it.

plus for those who doubt this change and nit pick on "dumbing down pvp", it is not going to effect top tier players creating their meta builds. remember most top tier pvp players always stress communication and team synergy versus piloting the class which comes kinda easy leveling through the game. giving filthy casuals more of a chance to make the game feel fun is not going to break the game, it actually will make small scale more challenging and fun instead of the afk till they win meta that it is now on whoever has a premade rolling on either faction.

No amount of balance changing will stop pugs from being farmed by premades when said pugs will still be queuing solo versus said premades.

Fun is also a very subjective term, and is not really a valid reason to make balance passes (quite possibly at the detriment of someone/something else). I'm also at a loss as to how such an approach, which (I assume) would be centered around casual players' enjoyment, would make the game more 'challenging' for everyone else.
