Reclaim Unused Names etc,

I would like to be able to rename my WP, somewhere in the future, as I made a horrible typo at creation. I can always create a new WP with the right name of course but as my playing time is quite limited those days ...

The horor for me having to play a WP named Midwinpp while it should have been Nidwinpp, it's like if that terribad WH would have made a typo too and named his toon PKlees or Zklees or worse Ohklees,

Isn't that something a GM/dev could take care abou if you aks him?

There are no name changes atm, except forced ones when someone took an inappropriate name.
There is a handful of GMs. When they start to accept name change requests, there are probably a hundred players everyday, who just spam them for a name change.
Maybe one day every player can change the first names of his characters via the homepage by himself. But i think atm they have more important stuff to do (two weeks).

Sodd the names! I am ok to be called Carrot or Apeshit, dont care. My question is: this massive deletion of unused toons, will it help our servers to work better (smaller database)? If so, yes I am up for this spring cleaning!

Some people have bank toons, that don't go anywhere but just sit in the capital city handling "administrative" stuff. They are usually level 2 or 3 and I don't see it being "right" to say they can't have the name they chose simply because they don't level the toon.

Apart from that, what's considered an inactive character? If I have an alt and I don't play him much but I play my others, should that alt be deleted or forced to have his name changed just because he's level 4 or whatever arbitrary level he happens to be? I play many alts, so my characters are at all different levels and I don't necessarily play them equally.

My thinking is simply if you don't get the name you want, that's too bad. Names aren't guaranteed, you don't own them, Gork didn't make you and call you the One, True, Poofoot, so if someone got it before you did, that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Ohklees is a marvelous sounding name, man! I'd call dibs on that if I were him...

I totally tried making an Ork named Ork274 or some such but you can't use a number in a name So sad. I thought it would be hilarious as there's just so many Orks they don't all get names hehehe. Then I had an idea but I'd need more friends playing to make it happen: each of us could name our Ork a number in Ork, such as... Wun, Too, Tree, Many, and Lots. Then we'd all go out in rvr and fight as a group.

Probably off topic, but can account name somehow be displayed before/after character names, so that we would recognise people? I.e. my account name is Wlarius but none of my character are called like this. In game I could be "[Wlarius] Bob" or "[Wlarius] Joe". This would make it easier to contact people and eliminate all those "is Bob online with something?" questions in Advice chat.
