Authentication Failed

Hey all,

Having the lovely issue where the game loads up, it thinks about it on the starting screen, before turning around and saying "Authentication failed -- application will now terminate."

So:
- I HAVE moved the game client folder to a different location
- I HAVE ensured my account can modify read-only settings
- I HAVE copied the RoRLauncher into the folder. It works fine.
- I HAVE turned off read-only on the folder. The settings show a black box still, but after looking online it sounds like that will always be there. Checking files manually, they all seem to have read-only off.

- The game IS on the correct build
- My details ARE correct
- I HAVE tried it with my firewall turned off; same conclusion

I honestly don't know what else to do here, not knowing how the launcher gets the client to point to the private server.

Any and all advice/suggestions are welcome at this point.

Just to give as much detail as possible, having looked through the forum a bit more:

- I AM using a LAN cable already, with no WiFi capability
- I CAN ping 178.32.58.46 with <20ms

Based on my own knowledge and deductions, it's something to do with the "mythloginserviceconfig.xml" not working correctly. (So I believe anyway, please correct me if I'm wrong.) It seems unable to make contact with the server address, yet I am able to ping it with no issue.

EDIT: All right, well, a VPN connection works, as nasty a "solution" as that is.

Same here, although sometimes it works

Same, though in my case I can connect and play when I log in to patch. That's...curious.

After that though, even if it's the exact same day, no luck. Once for patches and not after.
