Error Found During ROR Torrent Install

Hi gang,

Installing ROR onto my system. After using the regular installer client twice and it sadly blue screening my computer both times, the second requiring a reinstallation of Windows on my SSD (I'm not salty, everything was recovered, it was just a bit irritating), I'm now on my fresh Windows trying to get the client working here. The only elements that could cause drama might be that I use a secondary hard drive to install games which hasn't had a clean install, but I believe I've deleted anything that might link to ROR.

Anyways, here's the error I keep getting when running the ROR Launcher. I have installed DirectX and yet I keep encountering this error during the Launcher's install:

I've also tried deleting the data.myp file. No joy.

Tried to install the files manually into the folder from https://public.dadummy.net/war/pre2/

The post logs/launcher.log was too big to post here at 43k worth of lines. Pastebin couldn't take it either, so I've tried something a little different and it seems to be showing promise.

I used the uninstall application and now I've relaunched the launcher and we're currently at download 5090/171723 so it seems to be doing something now... Fingers are most certainly crossed.

I'm starting to suspect that it might just be broken at the moment as I read you were going through some sort of unique patch?

Giving it another go. Anyone able to give any advice? Maybe a way to compress the notes enough to get them across?

If it's trying to download 171k files, you have a problem with permissions as the launcher can't see your existing torrent files. Either the torrent is still running in the background, or you didn't remove read-only from the WAR folder. Also, if the launcher isn't in the same folder as WAR.exe it will not be able to find it, and will try to download everything again. In more rare cases we've seen aggressive anti-virus programs randomly block stuff, or third-party firewall programs. Run the Launcher as Administrator as well so it can do what it needs to do.

A good launcher start after the torrent should only be around 4500 files.
