I'm getting this error today, months after OP "solved" it (we know he did so because he edited the post, we don't know how because that was obviously not worth mentioning).

The main page reports the servers are online (they were restarted awhile ago).

Any idea what causes the "file signature bad" error (in my case, on interface/default/ea_overheadmapwindow/source/overheadmapwindow)?

I ended up moving interface.myp to an inactive name. This old interface.myp was only 250 megs. I then reran the launcher. It stopped updating interface.myp at 35 megs. Blew that away, tried again. This time it downloaded 369 megabytes, and at that point I could log in.

So the error was basically, it wasn't done but it had given up on trying or something.

Interface.myp was the guess because of the unix-style path given by the error, which begins with "interface".

Anyway, that worked for me.
