It almost seems like fear is the reason, same that reason that Mythic did this, was that notion that 'nobody would play this game' if the gear was too easy to get. Instead it just exacerbates the power balance, especially since RR also gives such a huge boost to power and effectiveness.
If the power gain was VERY minimal then it wouldn't matter, would be more like DAOC(just heard about that system), it would be just for special names and item uniqueness.
Anyways I have tried many times to argue the gear balances in the game (namely then under-gearing) of the archetype player which is not a daily hardcore type.. I still think this game doesn't suit that style of gear and power progression.
If things keep going this way we will look a lot like Mythics version of WAR, and that would not be cool considering we have no reasons to be concerned with subscription numbers or other such nonsense.
Uh, you might need 3-5 months to get Conq gear, but you need half a day to get Beastlord gear, which is very similar to Conq and only slightly weaker?
The power difference between Anni and Conq is also laughably minimal.
Be happy with having Annihilator, it will still be the main and most common set seen in Tier4 over the next coming months. Some lucky guys might get Conq in 1-2 months, dedicated players in 2-3 months, and with average players who focus on one main maybe getting it within 3-4 months, casual players however might need those 6 months.
But since Beastlord and Anni are easily available, there should be little "powercreep", apart from some people having extra mastery points to support best possible specs in late game. (and some careers don't even need those extra points to get what they want)
