Well, Archmage is now officially dead as a viable dps class. I guess we had a good run, but seeing the general direction of balance lately, I saw this coming a long time ago. I suppose I should thank the server for letting the class I main feel useful while it lasted.

At the moment, dps Archmage however, is in the ditch.

- We have a weaker AP drain than we used to, so using the class as a way to shut down something like a choppa can't be done.

- We now lack pressure, as dots on their own are far from enough pressure from the backline and radiant lance requires you to stand still for too long. (And just generally provides **** dps)

- Dissipating Energies has not been nerfed yet, though I expect that to be remedied at some point in the future. That said, without the ability to timestamp Dissipating Energies with Scorching Touch at 1 second intervals, it loses a whole lote of its luster and Radiant Lance is much better as part of your burst rotation in most cases, as it used to be in the olden days when DPS AM wasn't a real spec.

- We don't have the ability to provide powerful healing as a more offensive version of a healer either.

- Even our soloing ability is nerfed because you can't get silence and MotM at the same time anymore, and you can't outlast your opponent by draining ap.

At least the Asuryan tree wasn't deleted entirely, so that's something, I guess. I can still run around in pug scenarios pretending to be useful. But the class ended up worse than it was before the changes were even applied to it. I'm hoping to see the usual "Don't worry, the team does not intend to leave it in this state, it is merely nerfed until we figure out what to do with it", but I'm not so sure this time.

Because they are not related to each other, no???
Like Balance changes has nothing with RvR mechanics, different people do different changes.
