Yes one of the greatest changes in RvR ever done. No BO ticks.
But now the problem is circle around the BOs. No one wants to sit on BOs, but the system currently demands it and now no reward..

BOs need to lock.. BOs need to give resource when they lock. BOs need to unlock.

I think you both have right, system should encourage to hold flag via reward ppl but this should only happen after they succesfully defended the flag after a fix ammount of time aka after a short timer that lock the flags this way afker getting killed before the timer over dont recive any reward while either way if they do they actively def flag or was fault of the atk side for not try snatch the flag in the timer window.
Additional rewards are renown got from kill and the usuall 50% more when fighting on objective.

Per my post above a syncro global lockout would allow.all of this....

After a whole day of play on t1 and t4 the game has devolved to a fight around one BO per tier, at a time. No one wants to sit on a BO and not get rewarded while the only RR and contrib gain is happening at another BO.

No one even wants to go to another zone and rank that zone up without RR/INF/XP ticks. So good luck implementing an city end game anytime in the future.

I havnt liked the way rvr works since the beginning. Ive always thought BOs should lock and force us to fight.
I think the whole concept of spreading us out to beat the zerg, is a bad idea in itself and actually contributes to more of a zerg.
There are somethings in place that I think are great. And hopefully the removing of ticks is going to expose all the pitfalls that have been missed.

If BOs locked and only unlocked once all BOs on the map were locked.
If resource was gained only through locking BOs. If resource didnt deplete anymore.
If the amount of BOs/zones open were based on population.
I think a huge part of the game revolves around BOs and BOs are still the issue!
The whole run around chasing down BOs, you leave.. 1 person recaps, its a nightmare.

There is a great underdog system when the keep is being sieged, that is barely used, because you have to sit on the BO, if you didnt have to sit on the BO and it locked. And the locking of BO gave the same benefit as sitting on the BO, you can move around.
The underdog realm can take all the BOs and rush the keep.
The door will be receiving hp ticks, the lord will be extra strong, it will be a huge advantage. It will also make the attacking realm NEED to get the BOs back.

Ive written up a crude explanation of all of this. Ive tried to cover every sort of situation that could apply. I really hope the removal of BO ticks opens up room for better ideas in the lakes. Because it hasnt been fun for a very long time.
