Weekend Warfront: Bane of Peace

The Dark Elf march through Dragonwake has not gone unchallenged. High Elves and their Order allies have rallied around key locations, determined to protect ancient ruins and dragon nesting sites.

This weekend Bane of Peace will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Dragon's Bane scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

Completing all tasks rewards the title "Orderbane" for destruction characters or "Destructionbane" for order characters.

Ranked Scenarios

- Made some fixes to prioritize matching you in your own tier, even if you have enabled .ranked allowlowertiermatch 1.

- Fixed an issue that caused the UI to always say there was 0 ongoing group matches if you were in upper tier in Ranked Solo.


Scenarios
Nordenwatch has been selected for your next Pug Scenario!

Voting has slowed down, and Nordenwatch is pretty widely beloved among the community, so this is a good time to change how the voting will work with future Pug Scenario rotations.

The poll has expanded to list every Pug Scenario option at the same time. At the end of any given month if a scenario has reached 50 votes it will trigger the Pug Scenario to rotate. Does this mean we might have a whole summer of Nordenwatch? Possibly!

- Mid flag in Battle for Praag, Gromril Crossing & Howling Gorge will open 1 min after the scenario starts.


City Sieges

- You can now only queue for city as either solo, or a warband of size 6, 12 or 24. This allows the matchmaker to do a better job. And avoids situations where there's a 18-man and a 12-man on one side, but a 24-man on the other, leading to no pop at all.

- Some tweaks to contribution system regarding how contribution to kills work.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed an issue with abilities that require you to be behind the enemy. They should now function more reliably when you are on the side of the enemy and they light up in the client.

Balance Changes

- Grace of Sigmar - The 25% extra healing from life taps on this tactic worked differently on different abilities before, in some cases additive while in some cases multiplicative. After this patch it will work in a multiplicative way on all abilities. The base life tap values for some have been adjusted so they will have same healing output with the tactic as before.

- Sigmar’s Radiance - Base damage reduced from 150 to 120. Stat multiplier reduced from 1.5 to 1.25. Base heal increased from 85% to 100%. Life tap increased from 50% to 80% (from 75% to 100% with Grace of Sigmar tactic).

Shield-spec has been over-performing in damage output. We would like to pull a bit of damage away from the main spammable heal ability for the spec and shift some of that to healing instead. The base heal value has same scaling as before, but the damage scaling is lowered.

- Sacrifice No longer able to channel while on the move. Cooldown lowered to 20 seconds.

The most intuitive means to counter a shield-spec healer is to punt it, but the ability to channel Sacrifice while running back to melee range greatly reduces the impact of that counter. This change will amplify the effect of punts on shield-spec healers by making them decide between standing still and channeling a heal at range (while not moving back towards the fight), or running back to the fight (and not providing any healing). To preserve the ability's usefulness as an "emergency" ranged heal (especially in ORvR settings) the cooldown is reduced.

- Whispering Wind The interrupt component is removed from Whispering Wind as well.

This was kept after silence was removed as the original ability had an interrupt component. But it is too powerful when it becomes AoE. Swordmasters can also spec Crushing Advance for AoE interrupt.

- Pillage Essence Base damage reduced from 250 to 225.

Pillage Essence is providing shield spec DoKs more burst damage than is intended for a healer. Though it still remains as a high damage ability, the base damage has been reduced slightly to correct this imbalance while still preserving its utility.

- Fell Sacrifice Duration reduced from 24 seconds to 12 seconds while total damage remains same. Cooldown removed.

Fell Sacrifice has been a long-neglected ability since AoE-spreading of healing debuffs (Curse of Khaine) was removed. Because Pillage Essence base damage was lowered, which DPS spec DoKs often depended on for damage, it was time to buff Fell Sacrifice into a pure DPS ability

- Devour Essence Lifetap increased from 50% to 60% (with Empowered Transfer tactic slotted there is no change).

Slightly increased base life tap in order to simplify the Empowered Transfer tactic to work multiplicatively on all abilities. Healing without the tactic is slightly improved, but with the tactic it is unchanged.

We have never really liked the idea of an addon automating conditional checks for players. Now it is blocked.

PUG BOWL

The community-create PUG BOWL tournament envelops random, 2-2-2 group vs group, with unique rewards that cover gold and unique mounts (Rhinox and Pegasus) for the winning teams. You can read more about that event here.

Empire Chapter 1
- Silencing the Cannons: This quest is once again the follow-up of the quest "Return Fire"

Greenskin Chapter 15
- Pile On: This quest line has been corrected and reworked
- Da Traitor Boyz: All the Skargor's greenskins nearby will now count toward the quest
- The Hand of Gork: This quest is now available from the Map of Bazrag's Camp in the Greenskin Chapter 15

Greenskin Chapter 16
- Burning Smasha: You will now have to take Da Big Yellow Smasha from Stinky, then bring it up to Kupgup
- Don't Eat the Muck: This quest has been corrected and reworked
- Wyvern Egg: The whole quest line is now available and reworked

Wasn't it possible to block certain conditional checks? Well, there is still xrealm left as an excuse for losing. =)

Blocking NB is a really good change, thanks.
Time to l2p and not let an addon be a safetynet.
