Patch Notes 13/01/2022

Highlights
Image
Weekend Warfront: Unforgiving Seas

Image

During one of the recent battles upon the Inner Sea, one of our vessels foundered upon the rocky shoals of the Isle of the Dead. What is worse is that our enemies have done the same. Now both sides scrabble for parts from the many other wrecks so that they may escape the island before their souls are lost. We must ensure that our allies escape that dreaded place.

Two ships have run aground while moving through the storm-wracked seas of Serpent' Passage. One of these vessels belongs to the High Elves, while the other is of Dark Elf origin. Both ships carry valuable supplies that we must claim if we are to gain an edge in this war. At the same time, we must deny these resources to our enemies.

This weekend Unforgiving Seas will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Serpent's Passage scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

- The diminishing rations debuff mechanic is removed.

What is the impact of this change?

ok found it :
Diminishing Rations (blue debuff)
Diminishing rations is a wounds and stats debuff to your realm. It occurs when you do not hold enough Battle Field objectives and is designed to pushing turtle play. It can occur when your realm has aao, even if you ahve 80% aao.

Tbh: why you remove it ? It should actually be extended instead of removed... This supports even more the practice of waiting in PvE and then just rush in, when a siege is started.
Destro: Chosen 85+, Zealot 80+, Sorceress 80+, Dok 80+, BG 80+, Magus 80+, Choppa 80+, WitchElf 80+
Order: SM 64, Warrior Priest 47, AM, BrightWizard, ShadowWarrior, Kotbs

I agree with this. Do you plan to add another debuff or was there some bug with this debuff?

I wouldn't mind it but the radius was so huge, sometimes you had the debuff at flags, far away from the keep, and that is very annoying.

It tended to give debuffs for wrong reasons, and was overall not very transparent to players why it happened.

For example you could wipe greater number of enemy attackers while defending a keep, and then as you had more players in keep after wiping attackers you got a massive wounds debuff on everyone in the entire RvR lake.

We might reintroduce some kind of Diminishing rations debuff in the future, but then it will have to be fully redesigned in how it works.

First, it was definitely buggy. I've seen it applied to a side when they had all the BOs.

Second, it was a stupid mechanic and never stopped so called turtle play b/c if you couldn't beat the enemy in the open field without the debuff to prevent it from happening, there was no way in hell you were going to beat them with the debuff to remove it. In other words it facilitates steam rolling and zerging.

So instead of asking for more punishments for "turtle play", maybe ask for more incentives not to turtle.

Actually we followed several feedback threads and listened to the requests from the community, you can check the main threads on this forum. Since the original feature does not really add anything to the campaign in general and only annoys players by ineffectively extending sieges, the decision to remove it completely has been taken - and to be honest it was actually late.

We've expanded our Community Management team in order to be able to cover more requests and follow up on precise, weird, unwanted features/bugs that are nonsense and bad to QoL. Where the Community Management team is able to push for a better QoL, we will. Where more analysis is needed and 'fixes' may affect other game modes/features, the solutions may come slower than expected.

Yo sick patch when are you guys going to fix engi magus turret bug in TM it's been like 6+ **** months and the entire mechanic just straight up cooked won't work more than half the time. So many people have called it out by now. Can't aoe KD, can't cast on move, no damage bonus, no dodge disrupt, no increased dot damage or increased range, no armor debuff. Don't want to be too rude but priorities
