Weekend Warfront: Slaughter Hills

Image

Reikland Hills, a key point of defense in the guarding of Altdorf, have come under assault by the forces of the Raven Host. Those hills afford an excellent position from which a siege could be launched on the city. Make haste to the Hills and secure them for your realm!

This weekend the Slaughter Hills will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Reikland Hills scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

General Changes and Fixes

- Action Point regen should be more consistent when Global Cooldown or casts end. Should be more similar to Mythic servers Action Point handling. Hotfix reverting it for now, better fix in next patch hopefully.

- The 1.5 second Global Cooldowns are now more strictly checked and the server will no longer allow casting abilities slightly before the Global Cooldown ends.

- Several buffs and debuffs that were classified wrongly have been fixed. So what client and server thinks is cleansable or shatterable should now match better.

Image
Bug Fixes

- Cleave Limb: Corrected Action Point cost to match tooltip value (from 25 to 30)

- Primal Fury: Corrected Action Point cost to match tooltip value (from 40 to 45)

Ranked
Image

- Trophy items for ranked season 4 have been added to ranked vendors.

Interface
Image
Profanity Filter

- The profanity filter has been adjusted.

AP regen used to be pretty reliable a few years ago, then at some point i remember it was changed to be slower than GCD or something like that and it became pretty bad, hopefully this change makes it better

Not excited about strict 1.5s GCD checks though.
"Short GCD" was a thing even back on Live though i don't remember the specifics.
The way it always worked on RoR is you were given an option to mash your buttons for faster hits while sacrificing AP ticks, or wait for a "full GCD" to get AP ticks
With trict 1.5s the combat would feel pretty sluggish and will lose the tactical choice & balance between output vs AP sustain... not a fan of that

Real GCD being shorter than 1.5s is one of the reasons why i always preferred WAR combat to WoW, WoW feels pretty awkward at times if you dont have enough Haste

Can we have more details for GCD please. Need a bit of more explanation here. Thats hell of a big change according to description. What exactly "more consistently" may even mean?

for example on a sorc and bw you have the abilities "Impending Doom" and "Nova", both are instants. What you have done before was cast somethign with cast time and immediatedly after cast you pressed ID/Nova and it hit at the same time. Such things are no longer possible it seems.

Or you channel and then press a instant ability.

So in short: <Ability with Cast Time> + <Instant Ability> no longer possible, without having a 1.5s waittime inbetween

AMEN! It feels stuttery and plain horrible at the moment. All sense of rhythm has gone and sluggish is a nice way to put it :)

SM cannot switch stances properly now with aoe skills (at least if not close to targeted enemy).
How was it broken?
BO seems to work just fine.

Looks like it will be yet another unpopular patch. Noobifying GCD so that some gamers from a retirement home can enjoy WHO is not the right move.
AP regen seems broken, at least when you whack practice dummies.

Real GCD was 1.15 - 1.5 seconds. Not sure if this worked like this "If you use skill at 1,15 seconds it will fire but if you dont use it pretty close to 1.15 sec then it is 1.5 GCD" There used to be hard cap 1.5 sec GCD in RoR but it was removed because it caused big issues. And if Client lets you use ability at 1.15 sec i dont think this change is good. It feels that game is getting more and more simple in a way.
