Weekend Warfront: Guns, Shrooms, and Steam

The trains of Kadrin Valley are carrying gromril back to Karaz-a-Karak night and day. Work on the Doomstrikers is well underway, but now the greenskins have decided to sabotage the efforts. Get out to Gromril Crossing, and help your realm drive back the enemy!

This weekend Guns, Shrooms, and Steam will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Gromril Crossing scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

Bug Fixes

- Steam Vent is now dealing corporeal damage like tooltip states, previously it was doing physical damage.



Dyes

- King Deep Blue appeared in the dye vendor twice, once requiring renown rank 90, and once requiring no renown rank. The second version has been removed from the vendor and now you can only buy this dye if you are RR90+

- Graveyard Dirt and Golden Yellow have been returned to their original RGB color values

- There were two dyes named 'Chaos Black' in the database, which had different tints. To avoid confusion, the second has been renamed 'Chaotic Black' (#181 in the linked image below) - a minor change, but hopefully enough to distinguish the two.

- 'Order of the Gryphon ...' dyes have been renamed 'Order of the Griffon ...' to match the Empire faction, not the Kislevite heavy cavalry.

- Fixed lower/upper case errors in dye names

- Valentine's Pink and Valentine's Love dyes are no longer bind-on-pickup because... sharing is in the spirit of Valentines. Not that Valentines is lore appropriate*

- All dye icons have been updated so they hopefully better match the name/color. No longer does 'Midnight Blue' have a yellow bottle, or 'Valentine's Pink' a black bottle. Hopefully this will allow you to sort your dyes better.

- Minimum Rank and Item level for all dyes have been set to 0. Previously they were a mix of 1 and 0 and it made no sense to have this mix of values.

- Have you ever gotten two Dark Navy Blue dyes and wondered why one looks like a bruised eggplant and the other is fitting for a sea captain? On live dyes were accessible for certain races or factions. For example, one Dark Navy Blue was for Order, and the other for Destruction; or one 'Chaos Black' was available for Chaos characters, while a second 'Chaos Black' was available for everyone. In RoR however, all days are available for all players, which has led to the situation of two dyes having the same name but in fact being different colors. To address this coloristic confusion the first 90 dyes in the database (the ones that were faction specific on live) have been given the tags (O) or (D) where names are duplicated. See the image below for an example.

- The purpose of cleaning up all of the database entries associated with dyes is to hopefully introduce new colors in the future, and it helps to have an orderly system in place. Future database work cleaning up the dye system can be expected. For those who wish to see the full list of colors, you can refer to [this link] *No dyes were tested on devs. No devs were harmed in the making of these changes.

Any look at sequencer not working correctly for any ability over 10sec duration?

Does this mean we can make dyes again?


I'm interested in getting home and trying out if my golden yellow dye is borced all to craziness as most know that is my color !!!

Patch gets automatic +10 points because of this fix.

Nice to see dyes getting some love and some improvements too. It's a little thing, but it's nice to have for those of us who enjoy Fashionhammer. (tm)

Changes to dyes... how about we either get an explanation as to why you broke the fixer so we can't make dyes anymore or you fix it!

Bug report unexpected changes! ROFLMAO! You aren't forthcoming with the ability changes you are making so how are we supposed to "expect" anything???

Here's a leak:

Abilities are being reworked to be granted earlier and your whole kit will be granted by <level>, as opposed to 40. Tactics and masteries might be moved around as a result of the changes. There's likely some balance changes going in at the same time.

This is done so that new players aren't lacking abilities that max rank players will be.

As for general gaming issues, the ROR team is great. Everything is logical and correct (rvr currency, mail, zone lock mechanics, sets, etc.). But! This is just a superstructure, and the basis is the game balance! People leave the game not because of the lack of colors, but because of the gap in the possibilities and damage of the parties.
Say NO to lions painted like valentines!
On the belt buckles of the sovereign, the lions need to knock out "Max is with us!"
