Even if this is patched so that only wb leads of bands with 12 or more people get the treats, it is still a bad idea. A horrible idea. An idea that you now can not back away from, even if you realize just how bad it really is.
Who really is going to be happy working their butt off playing just so some person leading the wb get extra credit than they do?

You predict there is going to be too many warband leaders suddenly because of this..? I highly, HIGHLY, doubt that. Edit. Besides, the extra rewards from leading a wb are not that incredible. I'm going to guess that most people are not going to bother.

Its right there in the patch notes. but if clicking on links is too hard, here you go:
Every 5 minutes, the game will check that the Warband Leader meets certain criteria. As long as you achieve all of these, you'll earn half a point.
The needed criteria include:
Warband Leader must be leading a Warband with at least 7 members
Warband Leader must be in an active RvR Area (Cannot be in Warcamp, Capital City, etc)
Warband Leader must have earned Renown in the past 5 minutes
Warband Leader must not have kicked more than 10 unique players in the last 10 minutes (Players using add-ons like Auto-band and mass kicking players will trigger this penalty)
If a single problematic player keeps joining a public warband, they may be kicked repeatedly without triggering this penalty.
Finally, the system will check to see if the Warband is a Public (Pug) Warband and open to all to join.
If the Warband is public, the system will double the points gain for the Leader. (From 0.5 --> 1.0 every 5 minutes)

Hi everyone - we'll have a hotfix hitting in about ~6-7 hours to fix some bugs we found while monitoring the Warband Leader bonus. The system wasn't giving out as many points as it should have, so the patch will fix this and some other bugs we spotted.
We've also updated the Wiki page for the Leader's Marks to reflect these changes. The only notable adjustments are:
- Minimum Players was listed as 7, but has always been 10 (page corrected to match)
- Players leading Private/Guild Warbands earn 1 point every 5 minutes, and Public Leads get 2. (There's no change for players at all here; we updated this to avoid math bugs on 0.5 calculations.)
The team also has a fix for Ranged Squig pet's auto-attack coming up that may go live at the same time or soon after. They're looking into the White Lion pets and Melee Squig pets in the meantime, and if people can upload more videos of how to recreate the bugs for these pets onto bugtracker, it can help them lock down the issues even faster.

I can't thank the devs enough for FINALLY doing something to make it a better game and environment for singles and PUGs!! So long in the waiting, but it is casual players who bring added population and added variety to the game.

WB lead perks has been overdue for years, at least imo, who i think first asked for it 3 years ago.
glad to see competitive end game gameplay in a competitive game finally rewarded. The original gameplay, not the 6v6 arena phase RoR had going for a few years.

Feels like people who regularly lead WB's are getting burnt out from the repetitive player-based gameplay strategies and are no longer having fun, so as a last ditch effort to retain players who create content, they are offered this compromise. Hopefully this proves as a saving grace to help encourage some MUCH needed growth in the game, but I am definitely not holding me breath.
While I assist new players through advice chat & into whispers, I hear commonly from new players how hard this game becomes due to elitism and gatekeeping which is unfortunate to see as these so called elite players are harming the game & its community, hopefully there can be some discussions had to help promote new player growth & retention... What is the point of being a big fish in a small pond when all the tiny fish decide to leave?
