Live Event: Night of Murder

As darkness falls on the Night of Murder, the worshippers of death bathe the land in blood, all intent on proving their devotion to the Elven god Khaine. It is a time that the forces of Destruction are all too willing to exploit. Assassins infiltrate the cities, while on the battlefield the differences between Good and Evil fade beneath the crimson haze of bloodlust. None are immune to the will of Khaine during this dark holiday.

The Night of Murder event is active from 12:00 Friday February 14th until 12:00 Monday February 24th. Earn influence by gaining blessings from the Shrines of Khaine found in the RvR lakes of the world and taking part in the 'Marked for Death' quest.

You get +50% XP and Renown in the Khaine's Embrace and Blood of Black Cairn scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

Additionally, in the spirit of glorious murder, Khaine has decided that each player you slaughter in his honor will have double the chance to drop War Crests.

Rewards

- Basic: Well-Mounted Skull Places a pike next to the body of a fallen foe, topped with their head.

- Advanced: Khaine’s Caress Event-slot item with career specific stats

- Elite: - Elite: A Prayer to Khaine which can be traded in at a live event vendor for either a Night of Murder cloak or trophy. Cloak previews are available Preview here (scroll down to Night of Murder). Alternatively, players can choose a Night-of-Murder themed trophy, such as the Murder Fang for Order, the Screaming Skull for Destruction, or either realm can claim the Essence of Khaine. Trophy Previews here

- World Drop: Lobbin’ Noggin There is nothing quite so demoralizing to your enemy as tossing around the skulls of their fallen allies.
- World Drop: Thoroughly Lobbed Nog Send your fallen enemies severed head back to its former owner!

- Quest Reward: Vendetta Vial Mark your enemy target for death with the contents of this vial.
- Quest Reward: Pegasus for Order, Dark Pegasus or Dark Pegasus Disc for Destruction. Additionally, the Habiliment of Khaine (RR84+ Required) for Destruction players who complete a designated section of the Infiltration Questline, or the Crest of the Ravenslayer(RR84+ Required) for Order players. There are also several hidden extra tasks that will unlock titles to players participating in this murderous holiday - all have been correctly implemented in the achievements section this year.

Infiltration Quest
During the Night of Murder players will get a chance at a new experience - prowling the streets of the enemy's capital during peacetime. This quest is a timed quest that requires you to stealthily navigate the streets of the opposing realm's capital (Altdorf or the Inevitable City will have to do absent true elven capitals), while avoiding roaming guards who are sniffing out enemy infiltrators.

This quest is divided into four brackets, ranks 16-40; renown rank 40-renown rank 79; renown rank 80-83; and renown ranks 84+. Each bracket ends with access to this live event's mount - the pegasus. The first bracket rewards a 30-day pegasus, followed by 60-day, 90-day, and 120-day pegasi for players who push on in the questline. Do use caution - you'll have a choice between claiming a mount or pushing for a longer-duration one, but the tasks only get harder! For those fearing anarchy in the peace-time streets of these capitals, don't worry, Karaz-a-Karak and Karak Eight Peaks are still safe from intruders... for now.

To begin your Infiltration Quest, Destruction players can head to Raetha Blooddaughter at the Outcrop in the Inevitable City (the beastman camp towards the Sacellum) and pick up the 'Hand of Khaine' quest; Order players can speak to Thomas Schueller in the Market Square and pick up the 'Hunting Season' quest.

Live Event Shoppe & Dyes
This Night of Murder visit two new vendors in the Altdorf Marketplace or the Outcrop in the Inevitable City, to see what limited-time dyes await you.

It wouldn't be a new live event without some limited-time themed dyes. 22 dyes related to the blood-crazed Dark Elves are available only during the Night of Murder. Three of these dyes (Murderous Rage Red, Rephallim Shimmer Red, and Har Ganeth Steel) are unique in that they replace the specular dyes of your gear (for gear that uses specular dyes); these may only appear if your graphics settings are high enough. Please note that these dyes are only available for purchase during this Live Event, however some dyes may be added to loot tables in the future.

Dye previews are available here towards the bottom, but please be aware that the colors may apply differently on different base armor colors. We recommend to use an addon such as Pocket Palette to see how this dye will look on your armor. These colors were drawn largely from Citadel Paints and Games Workshop publications. We hope to continue to introduce new dyes based on inspiration from the source material in the Live Events to come.


Campaign

RvR

- The repair button for siege now works. It starts a channel that repairs the siege once every second. It's an 8-second channel that can be interrupted and heals a total of 5% of the siege HP. This button has a 60-second cooldown.
- Rams will now snap to keep doors when deployed within a suitable range.
- Abandoned BOs now fully reset to neutral after 3 minutes instead of retaining the capture progress of the previous owner.
- Capturing BOs now grants contribution towards zone lock rolls.
- Fixed various issues with the population count for T1 in SoR being incorrect.

Keep

- Fixed an inconsistency in keep upkeep, specifically in T3 keeps.
- Added a buff indicating the bonus of claiming a keep (+50 to bag roll).
- Keep lords can now be fought on both the bottom and top floors. However, if he is moved away from his designated floor, he will get a stacking enrage bonus until placed back on his floor.
- Keep upgrades for door health and repairs should now exclude posterns. This should not affect anything except potentially solving a bug where supplies seemingly did nothing.
- Repainted the zone area of the Southern Garrison's outer keep (in Praag) to include a portion of the keep inside the walls that was not flagging as part of the keep.

Group

Warbands

- Warbands now share all Renown, XP, Influence, and Drops among the entire warband equally. Previously, this was done per group, meaning parties with lower DPS received significantly less.
- The original party-based loot mode is still available and can be toggled on or off by the Warband Leader using `]warbandloot`.
- When you join a Warband, the system will inform you which loot mode is currently active in your chat window. The default is the new equal-sharing system.

Abilities

General

- Abilities with a cast time will now check their requirements (e.g., LOS) more frequently during the cast and at the end of the cast.
- Abilities with a pull component will no longer teleport NPCs to the caster (they will still be knocked down as before).
- Witch Hunter and Witch Elf anti-resurrection abilities now correctly show their visual effects.

Content

Dungeons

- Hidden spiders will no longer be visible/targetable as "Invisible Creature."
- The Hartsblood Draft reward from Hunter's Vale now unlocks the correct title (*Wild Hunter*).

Chapter 22

- A new anti-leeching system has been added to all Chapter 22 PQs. Now, only members of the most active Warband in the PQ will get the top bag rolls. Leechers will get their rolls reduced to the bottom of the list.


Fire

- Fixed flame VFX placement in the Stonewatch fortress.
- Fixed flame and lightning VFX in Spite's Reach in the Shadowlands.

Cosmetic Cloak Vendor

- The Cosmetic Cloak *Novelty Vendor* in the capital cities has been updated to include all *Rise of the Tomb Kings* cloaks.

Interface

Quests

- PQs will now show the correct reset timer in the UI for PQs that have a non-standard reset duration (> 3 minutes).
- PQs that are reset by a GM will no longer leave stale elements on the UI.

Misc
Image

- Name Reservation System Updated – Character names have always been individually assigned, not account-bound. To retain a character's name, you must log into that character at least once every 6 months. After 6 months, an additional grace period of 5 days per Renown Rank applies before the name is released.


Bug Fixes

Pets
[23937] - Pets will no longer aggro on damage if their owner is mounted.
[23938] - Pets will no longer aggro on targets outside of their dismiss range.

RvR
[23663] - Population counts in T4 zones no longer show invalid numbers.
[23923] - Invisible target dummies in the Order KV warcamp have been removed.
[23639] - Zone lock conditions adjacent to a fort were fixed to correctly count contested BOs.

Combat
[23962] - Melee Power is now correctly applied to offhand autoattacks.
[23914] - Leaving the Garden of Qu'aph will surrender any active duels.

General
[23873] - NPC names are no longer truncated in non-English locales.
[15822] - The Victory Points UI element will no longer be refreshed every frame in zones without an RvR lake.

At last the ram struggle will end??
Good that the renown and loot will be spread to everyone in wb.

Will this also apply in scenarios? The wording suggests that it won't, but it would be a nice improvement in the quality of life for PUGs so that they get some decent rewards when carried by premades.

At least right now it should not apply to SCs no.

The ability range , los changes

Are you taking into account that slow casts already are 100% inferior?

Ie insta or quick casts will trigger less out of range by design and a 3s cast by design is much more susceptible to out of range as 3s travel is a significant range (compared to range of cast)

So in short
Are you relaxing range on final check? Especially for longer casts…. The argument for this would be he obvious disadvantage of long casts. Way more Setbacks, standing still is death in this game, interruption window to name a few

(LOS is not same as range)
(I obviously think pulls and slow rather lacklustre casts (non cc) should be treated differently)

My thoughts exact. I'm also worried about the ill-effects. 3sec casts are already left mostly unused or are very situational on all classes because of their unreliability (interrupts, setbacks, los, range). Los is pretty unforgiving already (someone walks past a BO-flag, for example, instantly cancels the cast), with max range having a little more leeway. Now if range is changed to equally as unforgiving, most of the long casttime skills will devalue even more.

To clarify, are the double warcrests granted by kills for Khaine only in the themed scenarios, or is that x2 crests global?
