Character is being spammed with thousands of mail messages

Like the title says the second I log in on my Blackguard she is being spammed with literally thousands of mail notifications. If I try to open my mailbox the game instantly crashes. Reloading UI doesn't work. Restarting doesn't work. I can log in and play on any of my other characters just fine. Has anyone had this issue? Is there any fix?

Someone else fixed it at 160.000 mails, when another player send him a mail. Well, he still has the mails.

Hey, the same happened to me also, right after siege. Now its gone but on my mail icon it says that i have 22000 unread massages but when i open my mailbox, there is none. Also every time i try to loggin im bugged and cant interact with enything since then....

Well sending myself a message stopped any more from coming in but I still have 22,288 messages in my mailbox and opening it causes me to crash. Any way to clear my mailbox without opening it?

Same problem here, over 22,000 mail in the mailbox. Game crashes every time I try to open it. Tried sending myself mail didn't solve anything.

Same thing here, just logged in to find I have 22289 messages in my mailbox, I open the mailbox , it shows no messages, then I get lagged out of the game (all or most npcs/player characters disappear, cant interact with anything)

found the cause of the issue and will address it with a hotfix today

after hotfix-dropped from 22286 um to 5836 um, the game still crashes.
