Weird XP bump while gathering eggs

Note that I'm complaining, but I was riding around a locked Blighted Isle collecting eggs when suddenly I received 76398 XP, or more than half a level at that point. Any idea what would do this? I have my combat and stuff on, and had been logged in for quite a while, and hadn't participated in RVR for at least a full day or more.

And it seems that those messages are not accurate anyway -- I got about 4 more of them, which would have totaled more than 2 levels, but the XP bar didn't budge.

I also recently logged a toon that had 0 influence in an area I know I have been working. Redoing that area popped about 17k (or w/e) and I was back to the appropriate level. Perhaps some version is happening here, perhaps not. As long as you are getting xp from other legitimate sources, you should be good.
