Book of Boom 2 quest - bugged

I bricked the quest line (Book of Boom rank 2, Elf)

I died to the pegasus hero mob after using the meat basket.

I couldnt loot more meat to put back in the basket, so I abandoned the quest.

I couldnt take the quest again from the vendor, and I have killed the Arkaneth Nightrider 4 times since and each time I get a new rucksack I cant open it to begin the chain again.

Help or advice would be wonderful.

The same here but for the black orc side of the quest.

Update: In my case I have been able to repick it going directly to the last step and speaking again with the Stormhoof trophy pile (Black orc quest). Probably after the reset everything was fine again.
