Dourden's "Zero to Hero" journey - Starts NOW!

I've been feeling the alt itch a little bit lately and have also been seeing some fresh blood on the server which is awesome!
Thought if I was going to start streaming WAR again I'd a bit of fun with it and maybe hang out with the newcomers a bit with doing a "zero to hero" challenge. I've seen this with other games where a streamer/veteran player will roll a fresh character, avoid any carries, and push from lvl 1 to max end game/high rankings with no advantages or help. Essentially going through a new player "experience".
I do not yet quite know how I am going to define "end game" in some ways this could be mean just hitting 40 or it could be considered at end game when you hit rr70 or even rr80.
I will likely take whatever character chosen to at least vanq+ for this journey. But I would like some feedback and/or ideas of what the community might like to see played in this fashioned.
I'll go based off the comments here.
What class?
What playstyle? i.e. Free for all(WBs, SCs, Roaming, Soloing all mixed), PUG group play, or purely solo.
How far do I need to go to hit "Hero" status?

I'll be sharing this journey through YouTube uploads and streams @ twitch.tv/phatzas
Let me know what/if you would like see and in what fashion!

Sounds awesome!
Cool thing would be a pve challenge maybe ? Try to get as good gear as possible only by pve? Then rvr when u done whit the best dungeon set.

I would watch that!

Pve in WAR is really fun.

Pick a class which you know least how to play, class you never did. In that way it will be more genuine.

On a side note, it would be awesome too see new player perspective on how it being seen by organised WB leaders, you could include for example Brodda wierd questions when you pm him to get invite to his warband :)

There will def be PvE involved. I have not made any new characters sense the release of the new T1 dungeon so I am very excited to see that for the first time while starting this journey! Even as a new player by time they reach level 40 they should at least be aware of GB/BB-Crypts even if just by talking in game with the community so I will def be going through the dungeon progression once we reach the higher levels. Will likely jump into all of the dungeons so we can experience them all :)
I currently have some alts that are pre rr70+ using a combo of BS and HV sets still! Its pretty nice stuff.

I like the idea of picking a lesser played class. Ultimately I am hoping some replies here will give me some suggestions on exactly what. Truth is I have played this game sense its original release and been part of RoR sense then. There isn't going to be much I don't "know" just some I've spent less time on. There should be a pretty good selection to fit that bill xD
Brodda is a lot of fun I have run with him in the past on several occasions when I did get the itch to play in WB. I feel like people are already always tossing him odd questions or comments just to get his coms stirred up - its always a good laugh xD

If people reply wanting to see PUG and group play I will spend a large amount of time in any openly recruiting WBs, PUG quequing SC's, and joining random /5 groups. Maybe it'll encourage some newer players to do the same!

To truly emulate the new player experience, you could ask advice chat about every significant decision and force yourself to do whatever they suggest.

Whatever you pick im sure people will follow your stream/channel.
I lurk RoR project from time to time since I left like months ago, still waiting for scenario matchmaking rework, till then there is no incentive to log in, at least for me.
But I see steady pop number grow up, probably its holiday period effect etc.
I brought up Brodda, cause I remember he approach incoming private text in hes speccific way - I loved hearing hes comments on PMs from people like Sigon, we had great laugh on discord.

We all can agree and disagree with what devs are doing to Warhammer Online game, but noone can deny its UNIQUE game, for many most important one.
As there will be humpsters running on wheels there allways will be players wanting to smash eachother in RvR/SC.

I can already smell the fresh whiff of TROLL in the air xD I do like the idea though might do something along those lines from time to time.

Re: Dourden's "Zero to Hero" journey - Starts NOW!

I'm going to start the journey today on stream twitch.tv/phatzas
I have decided to go with SH. Offers some good flexibility to play anything from roaming, WB, to SCs etc. I do not generally play ranged very often and the meatball looks super cool too!

For this journey I will not be making use of any of my stashed resources. No gold, gear, or consumes outside what I can afford/make on my own while on this character. I will not be leaning on friends for Sov carries or carry premades etc. Only my interactions with the community along the way.
At the end of each week I will go through the weeks VODs and splice together some videos of the juiciest moments along the way to be followed along with on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/@phatlyfe5229

My initial goal to mark this journey a "success" will be to reach r40/rr60 minimum(I'll push to rr70 if progress is fluid enough/interest in the project is still there). My journey will include as much of the major PvE content as possible (new T1 dungeon, GB/BB/BS/HV/BL, maybe even an epic quest or two along the way).

I'll be more than happy to answer any questions, entertain ideas/suggestions/requests on that days playstyle(solo/PUG grp/WB/SCs/etc) & we'll likely take the time to try multiple different specs along the way.
I am looking forward to playing some aspects of the game that I have not done in a long time - I'll see you guys out there :)
