they have witchbrew what deal more damage than wh. and wh is always like this from old days. what wh got from wiitch is knock down for dragon gun. (maby something else)
i think bal also should use spirit damage just for change

I think he wanted the ability to have magic damage, in this game the physical damage is always weaker...

sorry my fault didnt checked what witcbrew damage is spirit or corp ( i was thinked all elfs deal spirit damage something like racial stuff) thx for pointing it out
