While he may appear harsh on those under his guidance, this is merely him pushing them to be better, for having survived wars with the forces of destruction, he is acutely aware of they danger they pose.

Well, according Beastslayer (Gotrek & Felix) ... it is not unusual that dwarfs live for 250 years. And [according legends] there are some of them, who lived for nearly 400 years.

Similar data can be found in Grudgelore (Dwarven Background Book): ... human life expectancy is less than half that of Dwarfs.

600 years is very old for a dwarf.
At 120 they are Longbeards and at 400 living ancestors.
