Sorry, my bad, not Close Quarter but Daemonic Contract: more damage when enemy is within 45 feet.

Do you know how to get the epic quest for the demon weapons with the heal proc?

2x Anni
3x Domi
4x BL

Then int accessory (3x genesis works if you have it or the tome resist set if not)

Slot 21+ toughness if you can afford to.
Just for clarification - you’re talking Impervious Winds for the jewelry, correct?
Btw here is another option.

What do you guys prioritize in renown points while leveling up?

For tank build max toughness, then go for anticrit.

Rather than start a new thread I would ask in this one.

Playing full havoc at the moment and 35/30. I am in full duellist gear and talismaned for survival (wounds/toughness). My dps is absolutely awful. I ran into an afk swordmaster and could not kill him before he came back. A good 12 to 15 seconds of dps and they were not even at 50% health. Will putting in lvl 28 dps talismans make that much difference? I doubt it. I usually use pink pet drop the 2 instant dots and then start with blue fire, into BoC, into red fire and finish with indigo or surging flames. It barely scrathes anyone I maybe get an enemy caster down to 50% if I get a few lucky crits.

Everyone says magus has good cc but it has not. Its got a shed load but none of them actually do the job CC is suppose to do. CC is suppose to stop pIayers dead in their tracks and give you enough time to get distance so you can engage them at a range favourable to yourself. Not a single spell in any magus lines does that, maybe the morale 1 bolt...5 seconds is not enough. I got jumped by a wh when running back to group and landed the 5 sec root on him. Cannot get far enough away to escape making the ability pretty much fluff. Stagger does nothing, it just means you die 5 seconds longer as they can still remain in melee with you. The rank 1 morale that knock backs is only decent one and that is unreliable as its not always up. I think players misunderstand cc for interrupting, they are completely different, stagger is great for interupting but is not a great CC, I love dropping a demon into a clump of enemy ranged dps/healers.

I am a dot class with no ability to kite as there are too many ranged snares kicking about. This is more a design failure by devs.

Cast times? Is there any way to lower my cast times. Spending 2 or 3 seconds to cast spells is infuriating. Found a tactic for close range cast speed increase but I try keep range as i am havoc.

At lvl 39 I get a good tactic with the 15% dam increase if dot is applied but I cannot see the point in havoc spec. I tried it because I was fed up of the even lower dps on the other two lines although I can see how changeling and demonology lines are useful in keep taking. I will be switching to a rift spec once I hit 40/40 but if I wanted to play havoc style should had played a sorc and hope a sorc had decent CC.

This is a frustration post and there is no clear indication of the actual question that you seem to want to make, but a ,it of rhetorical questions chained to sound even worse than what you are actually doing. Can you be more concise and direct in your question?

Basically how can I improve my dps? Am I missing any different sets or specific gear etc to improve casting times and improve dps. I know higher ranked gear yes but I may have missed stuff I am not aware off. What rotation should I use and which tactics to use bar the obvious plus int and crit chance increases etc? The havoc line for a single target dpser seems rather light weight.

My $0.02 - You're in a distance single target tree (Havoc) with the non-DPS gear. That's probably a big part of it. You're also in the T3 set (Duelist) at level 35 so your bolster is not as good as if you were in the T4 set (Mercenary). Swap to Mercenary (T4 dps) or even Ruin set with Int talis.
