For non AoE, I always liked calamity. It's not too hard to experiment around.

Its not as good. Gloom of night is hard to get off and gets disrupted a lot. Direct Damage Burst is what the sorc is good at and even if dots were a little better you have no heal debuff.

Besides better ST damage type consistency, the one thing sorc has that's good and BWs dont is Swell of Gloom.

You can do whatever you want, but the build Jabba linked is the only real competitive build. I usually pick up Echo of Power, but it's not that great.

on live Echo of power used to be pretty good, but that was when it didnt have a cd , around 2009 or 2010 someone was upset that it was op, and they added a cd to it hehe .

Shades of death people really didnt run it , because unlike Fireball barrage, shades couldnt crit .

most of us either went up to swell of gloom, impending doom, echo , and up clamity, getting the tactics, and hand of ruin.

or just taking echo, impending and all way up to asorb vit , for an extra dot, and asorb vit could crit so the heal was nice , with time stamp word of pain/impending doom, hand etc burst rotation.

I wouldn't run Swell of Gloom unless you got a pocket healer. I would replace it by Frozen Fury. Frozen Touch procs on almost all direct dmg hits add up over time.
Dying is no option.

I like echo of power its good against healers and wh.
Absorb vitality is meh, its okay in zergsurf or in pug sc without pocket heal.
Without pocket heal I often skip it even and maximise on my calamity tree tactics.

this build is more catered to orvr, it maximises your dps on your instant casts and zerg doesnt cleanse your rotations

that being said agony tree up to swell of gloom is the stronger kill pressure

You actually need Visions of Domination tactic even if you are going through others paths. Willpower reduces the chances to be hit by an spell. No matter what your build is, pick that tactic.
