Problem is- lets say you just removed Acid Bomb from specific engi XXmidgetxx. The thing is XXmidgetxx is likely to spam the Acid Bomb, so there is a good chance whoever gets it cleansed off will have XXmidgetxx's Acid bomb running on him again in a few sec, so what your cleanse really did was removing 1-2 ticks of it. Which isn't all that much dmg, specially compared to healing you could get off using the GCD/SE.

It might remove that Acid Bomb from 1 or 2 people in the party, but the other people most likely got something else removed. Maybe a heal debuff, a stronger dot, or another debuff that isn't spammed as much. 25 SE/1 GCD to remove a debuff from 6 people is still worth it in most situations IMO.

Problem is:
-heal debuff is single target since the zealot/rp nerf (and likely covered by a few Acid Bombs)
-most dots which run on targets in rvr are realistically aoe ones, which brings it right back to engi aoe

If you look at order classes, you just don't have that many rvr relevant dot sources- you got engi, am, and a 2 dots from aoe specced bw.

And then lets also not forget that in addition to 25 SE/1 GCD, Efficient Patching also costs you a tactic slot.

From personal experience it comes down to- Efficient Patching might be decent in some situations, but in those you can do fine without by just casting one more aoe heal. From other hand, in a situations when there is an actually significant pressure on your team, Efficient Patching ain't likely to do much (if order isn't retarded the important debuffs will be covered), while still taking up a tactic slot.
