Get your renown stuff "Daft Defender" to maximum.
It gives you an significant boost to survive a little longer vs magic/range.

Other then that:
No, if you go full BS you can't get more survival. You are full BS.
If you want to get more survival use armor tactic, toughness talis and such. But then you will loose damage output.

With the current changes I am actually thinking parry is the way to go for warbands. Full parry max it out! Only way to survive the broken melee damage currently when it comes to AoE spam.

Can someone please give me a current warbuilder Rifle spec?

With:
-warbuilder spec
-Ability Rotation
-Talis
-Renown spec
-Tactics

The build should be around lvl 40 Renown 50.

I'm a Grenadier and tinkerer for quite some time. And need some input on a full Rifle spec for an Sniper 6 man group.

build for crit
RoR.builders - Crit Engineer

build for sniper
RoR.builders - Sniper Engineer

use merc/BL set

talis : WS

Renown points : crit / WS first

rotation :

start with dots to not alarm healer :
-signal flare
-incendary rounds
-phosphorious shells

then :
-gunblast (or sniper depend of your build)
-quickshot
-focused fire

this rotation kill any lightarmored target

First thanks for the complete and fast answer.

Question:
Lotsa WS? Really?
Well ok if you go Rifle, armor is your enemy. Is it really better than BS?

You'll be near BS cap with item bonus , tactics (120+160), BS pots (+100) , just first take crit with renown points , then if you need take some BS point and finish with WS . WS is the most difficult stats to get , that's why you need to take also BL jewel, pocket, cloak and rest go full merc .

I have been doing a lot of testing on WS and I am getting a spreadsheet together, but it seems that WS is broken for engi.

I want to test it on melee to see if this is a general problem or an engi problem but I don't have the means to do so yet. I would like to see if melee get the same damage increase or perhaps a better scaling.

What I have noticed so far is that WS does not work the same way for all engi abilities. Autoattack gets more of a benefit than abilities do. Skills like blunderbuss / straffing run get seemingly no benefit, as do some of the dots.

The different of 300 WS with the same BS will not increase the dps on blunderbuss more than 20 damage!

It is really a crap show when it comes to WS since getting above 500 is a major investment in renown, tali's, tacitcs, and set choices. Even if you decided to forego WS stacking, you still lose around 70 stats to it on base gear. Right now you really peak around 700-800 after investing everything for a significant loss in crit / defensive stats / bs.

I am still working on the numbers but my hope is if this is something just with engi maybe we can bug report it for a potential fix, but with the balance forums closed I doubt this will change so I really recommend just skipping WS right now, unless you only plan to snipe squishies from keeps.

Balance Forum is down,

but when WS doesn't affecting Engi Abillities like affecting other classes abilities it is a bug.
And Bugs are there to getting fixed.

If you're going to question the combat calculations, familiarise yourselves with viewtopic.php?f=11&t=879 and demonstrate that something is wrong using calculated result vs expected result.
