[BW] Overlordset proc on hit

After testing the Brightwizard's Overlord two-piece set on both Targetdummies, PvE mobs and running it in RvR it seems like the 10% on hit proc only procs when you have something Targetted. E.G You perform a Rain of fire on 3 mobs, and the proc does not happend unless you actually click on one of the targets.

The tooltip of the setbonus reads: "On Hit: 10% chance to increase all damage taken by your target by 4% for 10seconds"

So the question for my topic and confusion is "should a target you hit with AoE, but don't have targetted not count towards this proc on the Overlord set"?

For testing purposes, it does indeed proc at what seem to be correct procentage chance when used on a singletarget routation. I can't on top of my head think of reasons why this should not work on targets you dont have targeted. Maybe am I wrong on this but I cant see that being overpowered or too strong, what do you guys think?

It's working as intended, and would certainly be much stronger if applied to all AOE targets.

On Hit: 10% chance to increase all damage taken by your target by 4% for 10 seconds

Says by your target, so i assume its work8ng as intended. If is stated something to the effect of:

10% chance to increase all damage taken by enemy by 4% for ten secs.

Then i could see it as a bug. But as it states right now u have to have a target targeted in order to get the buff.

Honestly though i dont see it too much of an OP proc if changed

I really don't think it would be OP if it worked on AoE. It works on single target now and I am not aware of anyone using this set for 1v1 purposes so not that strong a buff in the first place compared to the stats and other stuff you lose from using this set over your BiS gear. In WB vs WB play it wouldn't stack so if it became meta to run it then at most you get a few AoE specialists trying to proc it on everyone and both sides of zerg end up taking 4% more damage, doesn't seem that crazy. Probably not worth messing with either way since I think the set is meant to be mostly cosmetic.

Yeah, but because of the set/item mixup you would have to run I dont think it would be too Fotm or OP if it would apply on AoE. Also I am assuming the proc cant stack on a target, so having it as a little niece trick for one person to run in a Warband setting would maybe give this set more of a use than it currently has? Just speculating.

Just for the sake of comparison the text of the Conq 5piece bonus reads:
"Domination - On Hit: 25%chance to steal 100Toughness from your target for 10seconds."

2piece Overlord reads:
"On Hit: 10% chance to increase all damage taken by your target by 4% for 10 seconds"

The conq On Hit proc can proc of Sorched Earth, Feiry Blast, Annihilate and Rain of Fire but not Flamebreath, but without targeting each enemy. So I am just wondering if these two On Hit procs shouldnt tecnically both be able to proc without having the target targeted.

Answer to you question i would have to say no, and all the sets that read "your target" it should not proc unless you have active target... That is in the aoe. Hense if that were the case quite a few sets would have to have a bug report on them if the "on hit-your target" and in reality multiple targets are being effected by the proc, thats where the bug is.

I don't think the Overlord/Imperator sets were designed as items that could potentially see actual play. More as simple cosmetic options. It's unlikely that they would be tweaked to make they a viable piece of gear, because the tweak necessary to do that would require their 2 piece bonus to be on par or at least only slightly less weak than 5% critical strike chance.

To make it clear I'd personally love to see them tweaked/buffed in a way that would make them be situationally useful or useful for some specific classes, but I just don't think that was the developer's intention
