[White Lion] Pounce need a Cooldown

Hi all,

I cannot remember ever playing a game, with a gap closer on a melee DD without cooldown.

War has some basic cc mechanics for different archetypes

1. Tanks have the best basic snare with 100% uptime, DDs only can snare for a short time. So a tank can save someone by snaring the melee DD and his target is able to run out of melee range. All snare breaking abilities have high cooldowns from 20 to 60 Sec.

2. Every Tank has a knockback, it provides a gap between melee DD and his target. To counter this, pure melee DDs have a charge. Kockbacks give a 30 Sec. immune timer, charge has also 30 Sec. cooldown.

3. Many classes and all tanks can spec for a knockdown, it also provides a gap between melee dd and his target. This makes also immune a 30 Sec. timer. It is a different immune timer, so every tank can spec for a second chance.

All abilities that can counter a gap have 30 Sec. cooldown in this game (Tanks 20 Sec. with tactic and only if the target is snared), so why has Pounce no cooldown? As a tank there is no way you can counter pounce and save his target. All the abilities every tank has are negated just by that one ability, even more Tanks are not able to save a target under this condition. You can gaurd him, but this only counters the dmg burst. White Lion is the only melee DD that ignores all CC abilities this game has to providing a gap and save his target.

It woukd be ok if the WL could spec for a second chance, but this must be under the same rules all other melee DDs have with 30 Sec. cooldown or at last 15 Sec. That is still better than any other melee dd. He could still jump on walls and over aoe dmg, ground snare or blocking areas.

something something just wait till t4 comes out and you will see that WL is the worst mdps

anyway pounce is an ap draining ability on a class with serious ap sustain issues, constantly spamming that 30 ap ability will rapiidly drain ap to the extent that it hapers the WLs ability to deal its burst; furthermore, when a WL pounces they are useally pouncing out of guard range puting its self at serious risk/danger

or so ive been told ;)

Second that..... pounce spamming up to oil being healed by an entire wb and killing the oil vendor on keeps... WL's are trash. 5 second minimum CD and I bet a lot of them wouldn't be as cocky.

How would pounce having a 5 sec CD stop them from pouncing up the walls and killing the oil vendor?

That sounds more like the problem is the vendor is in the wrong spot (not in the keep) and is killable in the 1st place.

Secondly what stops any MDPS from picklocking in and doing the same thing?

and lastly, if your keep """""defense"""" is being terrorized by a mdps up on the walls then IDK my man.

No, it doesn't. Your first post showcasing an uneducated opinion about how this game is balanced across the two realms in a 6v6 just tells me you put very little thought into this thread. And frankly most of your assertions are just plain wrong. These threads have been made over and over by destru RDPS getting killed by a WL in open or in a SC and don't want to L2P.

Compare the White Lion to the Marauder, the destruction mirror. What does white lion have?

WL:
-High burst damage
-High mobility
-Armor debuff
-Silence

Marauder:
-Good sustained damage
-25% incHD without specializing for it, 50% with tactic and added bonus of heal leech
-Toughness debuff
-Wounds debuff(best in the game)
-Armor debuff(best in the game)
-Can tank up against phys dmg by switching to monstrosity when pressure is on him
-Reactionary Disarm and Knockdown

Agreed... Maybe Pounce cool down discussions can be had out of reference to the oil itself. Now that T4 is out, I think it's the start of a good time to look at the ability.

Pounce will be fine with a 30s cd...

If wls get fetch changed to work like the mara pull so it doesnt rely on the pet.

Sounds fair right?

even a 10 second cool down would be more fair then free 60ft teleport on demand.
