Current renown gain rate

What do you think of the current renown gained ?
Personaly i think it's way to high hence we move through content to quickly and I would like to see it lowered by roughly 50 %.

Let me just attach a poll to make it easier to track total.

Our renown calculation is not as live. If someone with some time could give us an idea of how live worked, that'd be great. I think there's some info on the forum.

Did some research on it and this is the write up. I couldn't really find the exact formula anywhere but pulled some info out of old patch notes.

To be able to figure it out we need several "real samples" T1-T4 from old vids where a known r/rr player kills a known r/rr enemy. Pref solo and far from bo/keeps and with other renown modifiers visible.

Well or the real formula :)

Could you provide some examples of the application of those formulae? I'm not sure I get it.

I'm trying to code a calculator in PHP to get to the bottom of this but god, it does not seem logical they way the state everything and then give examples.

I will see if i can get to the bottom of it when I get home from work.

It is a bit sketchy as I have problems remembering how I figured out the first list of BASE renown values. Also the assumption of linear decay for renown with power diff never felt right.

In reality there was to few samples so getting them from old vids is the only way I can think of improving the approximation.

////

Example ... A kills B

1. Retrieve Bs Renown BASE from the first list
2. Calc As rank + As renown rank -Bs rank - Bs renown rank and pull find MULTIPLIER from the second list
3. Modify BASE with the MULTIPLIER (second list)

(well or use the formulas)

So example 31/1 is killed by 41/1

1. BASE = 234
2. 41 -32 = 9 which gives 87,96%
3. 234 x 0,8796 = 206-ish

40/1 killing a 31/1 is rewarded 206 renown (as in patch notes)
40/1 killing a 18/1 is rewarded 70 renown (as in patch notes)

Same formula with extreme values

40/1 killing a 40/40 is rewarded 1328 renown (-39)
40/1 killing a 40/20 is rewarded 742 renown (-19)
1/0 killing a 40/80 is rewarded 4022 renown (-119)

I think I remember on live your RR could never be higher than your lvl, until you reached lvl cap.
Maybe it's the absence of this mechanic that gives us the impression RR progression is too fast?

On live I believe you were allowed double your level in renown like 20/40.
