So my thoughts on Chosen vs BG.


Chosen can easier get soft capped of str. because of aura use? can decide between serval defensive auras? dont need Weapon skill that much because most of their skills are Spirit based?


pure dmg wise a 2 hand chosen would put out more dmg then a 2 hand bg ? equally geared? thoughts? this is thought on pure dmg alone

BG will pull out more reliable damage. But it still can’t be compared to BOs dps and especially SMs.
Chosen could get good numbers in sc scoreboard but you will never see an offtank chosen in dps build in a group. Its damage potential has been nerfed pretty hard back on live and RoR has inherited it.
BG has good crit and dps with AAs and Enraged Beating. But still strength and weapon skills aren’t that high unless you go glass cannon BIS gear.

Pure dmg wise i think a 2h BG can out dps a chosen pretty easy, granted you need to know proper dmg rotation/set up but still.. but imo there's mor eto it then that, buff/de-buff is a big part of the BG's arsenal(2h or SnB, but that's not what you asked so).

I have both Chosen and BG almost to rr60. I will say this... BG will always kill low armor targets quicker (healers, rdps, some mdps) where the chosen always kills high armor targets better. Here on Ror the chosen is nerfed too badly for dps... They have nerfed the effectiveness of STR on that class even. Chosen is a lot less gear and rp dependant for 2h builds because of suppression being baseline.

Ive seen some kobs running around with the BL armor debuff and runefang doing some pretty high numbers.

Pretty high numbers? 850strenght(with rune fang proc)2H Weapon Dawn or Subjugator:
Precision strike hits: 200-400 depends if robe,light,medium or heavy armor
Staggering Impact: 50-75dmg AOE ticks
Arcing swing: 150-250 AOE dmg(10s CD)
BB: 150-200 dmg dot ticks
AA: 300-500 dmg depends on level of armor and the armor is reduced by IB, WL, SW, or Beastlord proc(if u run full set).

My SnB SM with 700 ish strenght deals about double dmg.

bg 2h is the only of the 3 tanks which can play 2h in rvr , and can be build to be durable enought for that to be a front line tank while also still being usefull ( aoe crit debuff, aoe block/parry debuff, aoe dmg spam, m2 aoe punt, still st super punt, st kd , crit st debuff) aka parry tactic + willpower buff +2h epic quest give aa 70 /30/ 40 to avoidance, can also dish out pretty nice aoe dmg in rvr. But parry tactic moved up mean you need rr 70 for the best build , meanwhile you can spec 15 pt channeling on malice but is not good in rvr as it is for small scale as single source of avoidance; the passive avoidances sources are better for rvr due rotation needs (bg require to interrupt often the channeling in rvr ) so is a very long way to go for the complete rvr build right now. But for my experience is a hell fun of a 2h tank in full build.
