Returning Player, Recommended Toughness?
Returning Player, Recommended Toughness?
Just started back up and saw there was a toughness change. Due to this change is there any reason to stack toughness?

Re: Returning Player, Recommended Toughness?
Has anyone figured out the break point yet? The mitigation formula used to be:
Damage = (base damage + (int modifier * (int - toughness)) - bubble)/(1- resist)
141 = 550 + (.3(1050 - 1000) 0 ) / (1 - .75)
or
2 = 550 + (.3(550 - 1000) 0 ) / (1 - .75)
So the formual would now be?

Nothing changes for you, if you only cap toughness. The nerf you talk about was a fix for some edge cases, where people were hit for 1 dmg after mitigation.
Dying is no option.

The difference is that toughness nows reduce dps rather then just the dps bonus.

Wouldnt that be a huge buff instead a nerf?roadkillrobin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 7:00 pm The difference is that toughness nows reduce dps rather then just the dps bonus.
And im new but if everyone say thoughness is useless wich stat besides defense that u cant choose. Should i focus as tank?
Same for renown. Im buying block chance. Parry. Didgd and disrupt. But after those? I think will have like 40 spare points

Yeah on paper it's a pretty big buff. But toughness is still lackluster as you don't get a secondary effect from it compared to any other stat, so it's in generally not worth spending resources on it. It's actually in theory better to get striketrough from STR so that your defensive buffs have a better chance to land.
The reason why block and parry and chance to be crit is prefered is coz they not only just reduce incoming damage they also prevent secondary proc effects. Block and parry also deal with guard damage aswell as often have tactics that benefits from them.
Toughness just reduces damage and does a quit bad job doing so as it only really work good against skills with long build ups, like Doombolt for example.
