Help with targeting for healing

Hi All!

I’ve been trying to play a healer and do some T1 stuff as I level up. Mostly been playing WP and RP. However I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out the best way to target people to heal. I downloaded the Enemy addon but I don’t know if I’ve configured it correctly. Most of the time people show up as in range but when I click on them, they grey out like they’re out of range. Not sure why that is but it makes it challenging to figure out who’s in range and healable.

Anyone have any tips for targeting folks in a healing capacity that they could pass on to a poor noob who is surely annoying his scenario groups?

enemy unit frame shows distance.
1 green dot : close <-> 4 red dot : far
grey out means out of line of sight.
ex) you're at bottom, target is at lord room or behind pillar.

I assume using tank/dps/heal sorting.
It's easier to find target.

I also seperate my grp frame from others.
healing my grp by grp frame.
It's hard enough to watch my grp frame and field.
in hot battles, can't focus all 3 : my grp frame, field, other grp frame.

when member of other grp need healing
I notice it by watching field.
and click target itself, if failed then find him at frame. it takes few sec but watching battle to find position and range are more important.

when your team is dominating or pushing then it's possible to play by only unit frame

also try mapping function keys (i'm using first six) to target each group member, way faster than clicking.

Disable the tank/dps/heal sorting in enemy and assign hotkeys to select your groupmembers. If you can get used to it, it will improve your healing and if you ever want to go lifetap healing, selecting groupmembers with hotkeys is almost a necessity

Can you track what you're healing with non-sorting short key for each members ?
I haven't tried it, just curious. ( i used click )
when everyone is in danger but you wanna save the tank, it was really hard for me to find that tank in grp window.
he could be 6 or 1 or 3.

When the tank is on position 3 in group ui, you can select him with hotkey for group member 3.
Exception: your own position is excluded in group ui (but not in warband ui). So when you are on position 4, the hotkey for the guy after you on position 5 is the one for group member 4.
Why it didn't work in warband ui this way, I don't know. Maybe there is a way to make it work?
